Hit the 206/246 GT, first berlinettes engine center marketed by Ferrari in 1968 under the trademark Dino, the 308 abandon the V6 2 liters and 2.4 liters for a 3-liter V8, o their name of 308 (3 liters 8 cylinders). Preceded by the 308 GT4, a model 2 + 2 carross by Bertone - an infidel that will remain unique - and still bearing the Dino brand, the berlinette 308 GTB which appears at the Paris Motor Show in October 1975 is a real Ferrari. It bears the cavallino fire, as well as an elegant line Pininfarina this time, like all the Ferraris since 1958. It is the worthy heir of the agile berlinettes Dino 206 and 246 with its strict two places. It is however directly drive from the Dino 308 GT4 which it takes the chassis with a wheelbase of 2.34 m (reduced by 21 cm), the same engine V8 3 liters of 255 hp. The V8 of the 308 GTB has a dry sump lubrication, much more effective on this more sporty grind. On the other hand, the American version will retain the wet sump lubrication of the 308 GT4 and will be singled out by an exhaust 4 outputs, while the other 308 GTB have only one output. Another novelty of the 308 GTB, its shell in polyester, the exception of the hood, made of aluminum. The very short design time has given the choice of polyester, not requiring heavy investments and reducing the weight of the car by a few kilograms. The carrzzeria Scaglietti Modne, a subsidiary of Ferrari, is responsible for the execution of the hulls. The 3 liter V8 that develops 255 hp 7,700 rpm, coupled with a torque of 30 mkg 5,000 rpm, does wonderfully under this dress light. The rims feature the 5-spoke design of the Ferrari, Daytona and 365 GT4 2 +2, but in 14-inch diameters, Michelin XWX 205 / 70-14 bindings. Starting in 1977, the body of the 308 is made of steel with aluminum openings. In September, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, a 308 GTS version of the car was released, filling the void left three years later by the 246 GTS stop. Pininfarina uses the same principle of removable roof which is placed behind the siges. The mirrors of the quarter mark metallic jealousies. GTSs are also differentiated from GTBs by wet sump lubrication (that of American versions) and two ignition distributors instead of one. In 1980, the 308 range received an indirect injection Bosch K-Jetronic and an electronic ignition Marelli Digiplex. Unfortunately, the performance of the 308 GTBi and GTSi V8 developed 214 hp 6,600 rpm (205 hp in the United States) for a torque of 24.8 mkg 4,600 rpm.

Elle arbore firement le cavallino, ainsi qu’une ligne lgante signe Pininfarina cette fois, comme toutes les Ferrari depuis 1958. Elle est la digne hritire des agiles berlinettes Dino 206 et 246 avec ses strictes deux places. Elle est pourtant directement drive de la Dino 308 GT4 dont elle reprend le chssis avec un empattement de 2,34 m (rduit de 21 cm), le mme moteur V8 3 litres de 255 ch. Seule diffrence notable, le V8 de la 308 GTB possde une lubrification carter sec, bien plus efficace sur cette mouture plus sportive. En revanche la version amricaine conservera la lubrification par carter humide de la 308 GT4 et se singularisera par un chappement 4 sorties, alors que les autres 308 GTB n’ont qu’une sortie. Autre nouveaut de la 308 GTB, sa coque en polyester, l’exception du capot, en aluminium. Les dlais de conception trs courts ont dict le choix du polyester, ne ncessitant pas de lourds investissements et permettant de rduire le poids de la voiture de quelques kilos. C’est la carrozzeria Scaglietti Modne, filiale de Ferrari, qui assure l’excution des coques.
