Very high condition antique Colt, Single Action Army Revolver made in 1877. Serial number 38835 is

Lot # 351 (Sale Order: 1 of 401)

Very high condition antique Colt, Single Action Army Revolver made in 1877. Serial number 38835 is a .45 caliber, 7 1/2" barrel Colt with blue finish and one piece walnu...moret grips. The serial numbers match in all visible areas including the trigger guard, back strap, frame and the last four digits of the number are on the cylinder. All markings are clear with the 3-line patent dates marked on the frame. The .45 caliber is the early style marked on the back left flat of the trigger guard. Most of the blue is present on the barrel, ejector housing and trigger guard with minor loss of finish on the back strap and cylinder. There is feathering present on both sides of the front sight and on both sides of the front trigger guard. This is the indication of the original polish marks that most collectors look for. The walnut grips fit perfectly and may have had a light coat of varnish applied. The action is crisp and functions perfectly. The bore has a small area of minor roughness. This is an outstanding Colt in nearly new condition.
