Greer Ordnance inspected, and DFC sub...more-inspected; also marked ''DFC'' on left side of butt. This revolver is additionally marked with a ''G'' beneath the serial number on the triggerguard and backstrap. All visible matching numbers, including grips and bullseye ejector rod tab; no vent hole in axle. Three-line patent date, U.S. to left side of frame. Mfg'd 1883 and listed as shipped June 8, 1883 in a 100-gun shipment, and is additionally noted in Colt Factory records as being shipped with a blue finish. On page 76 of ''Cavalry & Artillery Revolvers'', by Kopec and Fenn, this revolver is listed by serial number as a probable buyback and sold through trade channels. Condition is near excellent retaining approx. 75%-80% thinning nickel. Grips are excellent with several very small chips at butt edge. Cartouches are very crisp and well defined, bore is excellent. Custom Engraved Antique Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #56971 .45 Colt cal., 7.5'' barrel, engraved nickel barrel and frame, gold-plated cylinder, with one-piece ivory...more grips. Mfg'd 1880. Condition is excellent as enhanced, showing approx. half engraving coverage to metal parts, with replaced cylinder axle, donut style ejector rod tab, and three-line patent address. Ivory grips are excellent and fit very well. Hammer engages at all four points, lockup is tight, bore is excellent. Acquired from the Santa Barbara Historical Museum owned by Jim Mahoney, son of '40s and '50s TV stuntman and actor Jock Mahoney, noted for his TV cowboy roles in the ''Range Rider'', ''Yancy Derringer'', and ''Tarzan''. Early U.S. Marked Colt Cavalry Single Action Revolver, #12714, .45 Colt cal., 7.5'' barrel, nickel finish, spacered ivory grips. Mfg'd 1874. Left side of frame marked '...more'U.S.''; small parts with ''A'', as this was an Ainsworth inspected Single Action retaining its original barrel, cylinder, triggerguard and backstrap. Includes a letter dated 1990 from John Kopec where he refers to this revolver as a ''Buy-Back'' revolver, ''as it falls well within the serial range where vast quantities of militia surplus revolvers were sold while in new condition by the various state militia units. These were in turn purchased by arms dealers, who then resold them back to Colt.'' The letter also states, ''We feel that this revolver is 100% authentic, with the period replaced hammer,'' and is subsequently listed in in Kopec's book. Condition is very good with spray of light to moderate corrosion down left side of barrel and to half of cylinder, probably from poor storage. Grips with fractional shrinkage and one loss at toe of left side. (Approx. 50% of the known ivory grips on early Single Actions are in fact two piece with spacers.) Good crisp action, very good to fine bore. Est.: $6,000-$8,000. (Antique)

U.S. and RAC marked f...morerame; triggerguard is numbered #5593, as is backstrap; barrel is numbered #6937; cylinder is numbered #5541. Revolver retains large donut-type ejector tab. Frame originally mfg'd in 1891. Factory letter states shipped to U.S. Gov't, U.S. Gov't Inspector located at the Colt plant, 200 guns in shipment. Under Remarks it states ''The records also indicate subject revolver was returned to the factory for refurbishing. The refurbishing consisted of replacement of worn parts, exterior refinishing and reassembly.The revolver was subsequently reshipped to the Commanding Officer, Springfield Armory, Springfield, Mass. on August 3, 1903.'' Condition is about fine. Blue components retain approx. 70%-75% finish; frame with approx. 50% case colors. Grips have darkened with some knackering and thinning to cartouches. Action is crisp, bore is fine. A classic mixed numbered Artillery converted for the late Spanish-American War in 1902. Est.: $4,500-$6,000. (Antique)

Dustcover attached to fixed integral rail, with saddle ring. Trap door with 4-piece brass capped cleaning rod. Barrel with two-line ''King's Improvement'' address; upper tang stamp is 2nd type ''MODEL. 1873''. Mfg'd 1891. In good antique condition overall. Metal has worn to light gray with brown freckling. Barrel marks have worn slightly but are still visible. Tang stamp is well defined. Wood has been sanded, with an additional coat of an older varnish, and shows wear consistent with the rest of the rifle. Fine action, good bore, with a few spots of surface corrosion. Deluxe Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle, NVSN, .32-20 cal., 24'' lightly engraved and banded blue barrel, case hardened frame, pistol-grip checkered walnut stock ...moreand forend. Condition is very good to fine as semi-professionally restored. Sides of both upper and lower tang show no additional markings when buttstock is removed. Barrel with immersion type bluing, some enhancements to address and patent dates. Front sight is a later replacement. Case hardened frame was done using the cyanide method, and high edges show wear-thru to bright metal. Serial number has been removed during polishing, therefore, we can make no claims as to the originality of any of its features. Buttstock and forend are nicely figured, and pistol grip cap features horn inlaid fleur d'lis detail. Action remains very good, bore is about fine. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)

3rd Model Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Carbine, #78264, .44 RF cal., 20'' round barrel, brass frame, straight grip walnut stock and forend, crescent brass buttplate...more with early type trapdoor, front sight is integral with the front barrel band and folding non-adjustable leaf rear sight, with saddle ring and includes a three-piece brass tipped cleaning rod. Serial number is marked on lower tang behind the trigger. Barrel with two-line ''King's Improvement'' address. Mfg'd 1871. In good to very good overall antique condition. Brass shows well with mild toning and some areas of minor darkening from age; sideplates sit nice and flush with the frame. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle and retains a majority of an older added varnish. Barrel, magazine tube, lever, and hammer with a mottled brown patina and scattered fine pitting. Although faint in certain areas, the barrel address is completely legible. Buttplate trapdoor moves freely. Serial number is clear and well defined. Wood fits well around the upper and lower tang with minimal gaps or reveal. Good action, fair bore. Est.: $3,000-$5,000. Upper tang is marked in three lines and includes ''88'' and ''92'' patent dates. Barrel with early ''New Haven Conn.'' address with no patent dates. Mfg'd 1897. In fine overall antique condition. Barrel and magazine tube retain approx. 75%-80% lightly thinning and toning blue. Left side of receiver with approx. 65%-70% case colors, the remaining portion shows approx. 20%. Receiver with freckled spotting and a few areas of fine pitting on and around the triggerguard. All factory marks are clear and well defined. Wood with normal small surface dents and scratches from handling and use and retains a majority of the varnish. Excellent action, bore is good for its age. Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (Antique)

Left side of frame with ''three-line'' patent dates and ''Rampant Colt'' logo. Top of barrel with two-line ''COLT'S PT F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.'' address. Frame, triggerguard, and gripstrap with matching numbers. Factory letter states that this revolver was shipped in June, 1903, as part of a three-gun shipment to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett, & Co. In good overall condition, retaining only trace amounts of blue finish in some protected areas. Metal with a combination light gray and mottled brown patina. Grips show flattening and wear consistent with the rest of the gun. Left grip with a 3/8'' hairline crack at bottom edge. Barrel address is mostly clear. Patent dates on left side of frame have been cleaned leaving the metal in that area with a slightly brighter appearance and a patch of shallow scratching. Fair action, cylinder with a little bit of play. Bore with good rifling and areas scattered of fine surface erosion. A good, honest, early revolver that letters to a well-known Chicago hardware wholesaler. Est.: $500-$750. (C&R/PPT)
