Matching checkered walnut ...moretrim beavertail forend. Gold washed dbl. triggers, extractor. Completed by Angelo at the peak of his talents, this gun represents one of his signature works. Designed around a Diana, Goddess of the Hunt, motif Angelo unleashed his considerable talents in the completion of this work of art. Multi colored gold inlays depict Diana & her hounds on both action sides. The action bottom also features a (Diana Bulino style vignette). The forward edges of the action sport exceptionally fine acanthus scroll interspersed with multi colored gold bouquets. The action shoulders are deeply carved w/ pigeons amidst a floral design w/ deep relief floral fences. The tops of both fences & the pivot point of the top lever feature additional multi color bouquets as do the bbl. breeches. The top lever is pierced in an intricate design matching numerous of the bouquets on the action. The trigger guard features a gold pigeon in a deep relief vignette inset among fine acanthus scroll. The muzzles as well are decorated w/ a floral engraving pattern. The bbls. are finished w/ a deep rust blue that highlights the engraving, gold inlays & gold wire accents at the breeches. The stocks elegantly shaped, amber colored walnut highlighted w/ a fabulous flame pattern envelops the metal work making this a masterpiece of the gun makers art. Faux ivory grip panels w/ prancing Colt emblems ...more& bas relief steer head on right grip. A striking example of a highly embellished 3rd generation SAA, the craftsmanship of both Angelo Bee & Denise Thirion make this a Colt to behold. Thirion painstakingly inscribed vine & leaf scroll on nearly every surface of this revolver. Angelo's contribution was gold wire inlays w/ flourishes to frame the luscious scroll . Gold bands encircle muzzle, bbl. breech, cyl. breech & the front of the recoil shield. As well; all Colt inscriptions have been gold inlaid. To highlight their work this Colt is finished w/ a rich rust blue highlighted by carbona blue screws, pins, trigger & hammer edges. Signed Jean Diet, Sarolay, the action is highly embellished w/ insignia of numerous American military units who fought in the campaign as well as the name "G. PATTON" & also exhibits numerous patriotic symbols. Multicolored gold inlays highlight the floorplate w/ "1944 / 2004" plus "60" & "BASTOGNE". Hardly a panel remains untouched by Angelo's hand. Amidst abundant vine & leaf engraving sit 2 exceptionally detailed game scenes on French gray surrounded by gold wire borders. The left action side depicts a covey of Bobwhite Quail springing to flight in a farmyard. The action's right side portrays Mourning Doves in a forest, so realistic you could almost hear their wings whistle The action is topped w/ a gold woodcock & the trigger guard wears a dual tone gold Gambel's Quail. All action borders feature fine line gold wire inlays as do the barrel breech & muzzle. The bottom of the mag. tube sports a gold Bobwhite inlay w/ a gold pheasant on the mag. cap. Most Winchester factory markings have been filled in gold as well. This package would not be complete if the wood didn't complement the metal. A beautiful upgrade that began w/ a 1961 vintage Superposed, this one spent plenty of time on Angelo's work bench. Deep relief engraved w/ the Diana pattern, the engraving features dual "A BEE" signatures. Besides the elegantly carved receiver, the bbls. received a high quality rust blue & then the gun was finished w/ highly figured European walnut. The stock's design is a modified rnd. knob w/ sculpted drop points behind the stock cheeks highlighted by a satin oil finish. Unusual to a Lightning style gun, the forend is of a schnabel design more like the Superlight. LOP: 14 7/8" over checkered butt. DAC: 1 5/8". DAH: 2 3/4". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Angelo Bee master engraver certificate of authenticity. SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 243 Win. S# 6344. Bbl. 26". Quarter rib w/ Leupold Vari-X II 3X9 scope in Ruger rings w/ extension rear ring. Blued action & bbl. Checkered high g...morerade walnut pistol grip stock w/ Ruger grip cap & Ruger red pad. Front edge of quarter rib does not quite meet bbl. Checkered walnut factory broad forend. Swivel studs. Ruger collectors refer this model as "No. 1 BB" in reference to its forend & bbl. taper. In pre-prefix Rugers, only 1,255 - 243's were made. Like many early Rugers, this No. 1 is stocked w/ an exceptionally highly figured piece of feather crotch walnut. Unlike other No. 1's, this one also features the masterful work of Angelo Bee decorating its metal. Muzzle & breech feature gold wire inlays w/ cal. marked in gold. A wedge of exquisite foliate scroll decorates the breech w/ foliate scroll covering much of the action. Featured w/ in this foliate scroll are Angelo's trademark vignettes highlighted in French gray. On left is a gold inlaid scene of a bobcat encountering wild boar. On the right, 2 majestic bighorn sheep all amidst a background befitting the scene & encircled by fine gold wire. 1969 Mfg. CONDITION: metal remains near excellent. Wood shows one compression mark towards nose of forend but remains near excellent. Leupold scope finish is turning to purple. Optics remains clean. To frame the metal work he chose a luscious piece of butterscotch flame grained marble cake walnut w/ smoky highlights configured in the classic Lightning style w/ slightly exaggerated cheek panels & backed w/ sculpted drop points. As an additional feature the forend is a non traditional schnabel design. LOP: 14 5/8". DAC: 1 5/8". DAH: 2 1/4". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Angelo Bee master engraver certificate of authenticity. Rnd. knob long tang stock w/ ...moreLightning style forend. Gray receiver w/ blued bbls. A seldom seen variation of the Superposed, particularly in this gauge. The Grade 4 features a fox w/ pheasant & kits in the forest on left side, bird dogs w/ pheasants in the forest on the right & pigeons on action bottom. Games scenes are surrounded by relief cut oak leaf engraving & interspersed w/ matted surfaces. Although not one of Browning's most popular designs, the Grade 4 is quite striking in its appearance. This particular example is quite late for a Grade 4 & features dual Angelo Bee signatures. The stock wood wears Browning's traditional gloss finish & our example shows bright flame on left side w/ more muted flame on the right. LOP: 14 3/8" DAC: 1 1/2". DAH: 2 1/2". RARE & PRISTINE FACTORY ENGRAVED COLT OFFICER’S

MODEL FLAT TOP TARGET REVOLVER W/ BOX & FACTORY LETTER ORDERED FOR LOAN ACCOUNT. S# 20240. Cal. 22 LR. Target configuration with blue finish and 6" tapered bbl. Adjustabl...moree blade Patridge target front sight and windage adjustable rear sight in dovetail on frame. Bbl. has period 2 line address on top surface and marked “COLT /OFFICERS MODEL/ .22 LONG RIFLE” on the left side. Left side plate has the Colt trademark Rampant Colt framed in a punch dot diamond. Blued trigger has checkered face, hammer is polished bright on sides with blued top & rear edges. Top flat of the frame and rear of the frame are matte finish with tasteful engraving flourishes. Backstrap is checkered. Factory engraved most likely by William Gough and ordered with class “B” coverage consisting of flowing acanthus scrolls in punch dot background on frame, barrel and appended surfaces. Revolver mounted with factory 2 piece pearl grips with Rampant Colt silver medallions and a raised carved eagle on the right panel. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter which specifies Caliber 22 with 6" bbl, Blue Finish, Pearl Stocks, Class “B” Engraving and shipped to Loan Account; Spaulding W. Arms, Salt Lake City, Utah on May 31, 1938 in a one gun shipment. Remarks section indicates that the revolver was returned to the factory on Feb 1, 1939 and reshipped 6 additional times on loan for display to important Colt dealers around the country. The revolver's final shipment was on April 5, 1940 to the Bacharach Raisin Company in Baltimore, MD. Also accompanied by the original Colt burgundy hinged lid cardboard box with black & white end label identifying this revolver. Additionally there are 3 black & white over labels, 2 on the end of the lid “TARGET” and “PATRIDGE SIGHTS”. The 3rd label is diagonally over the top “ENGRAVED” from which “EN” is missing. This exact revolver is pictured on page 330 of The Book of Colt Engraving (Wilson) and on page 306 of Colt Pistols (Wilson & Hable) wherein it's stated that it is “one of the most traveled of sample guns”. Wilson also observes that this box was shipped 6 or 7 times and shows the travel wear but protected the gun during its travels. Also accompanied by a copy of the Wilson & Hable book in which this fantastic Factory Sales Sample is pictured. CONDITION: appears as new and unfired. Retains virtually all of its original factory finish with sharp engraving and crisp markings. There is only the most faint cylinder line and a small spot or two on left side of the trigger. Grips are excellent, showing great fire and color. Crisp mechanics. Bright bore. Box has rubbed edges and a couple of broken corners with the right end of the top partially detached, otherwise it is intact with mostly legible labels. Inside of box is clean with most print legible. This is the wonderful opportunity to own a pristine Factory Sales Sample exhibiting Colt's best work in the years leading up to WWII. PROVENANCE: R.E.
