Incredible Red Sox signed baseball

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 1 of 91)      

One of a kind incredible opportunity for the baseball fan. Official Rawlings American League ball signed by members of the 1981-82 Boston Red Sox. Hall of Fame Signatures include Carl Yazstremski(in red), Tony Perez, Wade Boggs, Dennis Eckersley and manger Ralph Houk. Identified signatures include John Tudor, Mike Torez, Dave Stapleton, Jerry Remy, Chuck Rainey, Bob Ojeda, Carney Lansford, Bruce Hurst, Dwight Evans, Steve Crawford, Mark Clear and Tom Bermeir. We were unable to identify the signature of Hall of Famer Jim Rice. We are calling this a 1981-82 ball as Wade Boggs does not appear on the team register until 1982. Ball has been in the donors possession for approx 20 years but does not come with a COA however the names match the team roster for the year and we will include a copy of the roster. The ball is period correct with the correct league president screen signature of Lee Macphail and comes in a clear display.

Colorado Springs Van Briggle pottery collection

Established in 1899, this Colorado companies Art Nouveau style pottery is highly sought after and very collectable. The three 1950's 1960's vintage pieces in this collection consist of #26 Mulberry 7" vase and #34 Teal vase accompanied by a Teal 8" plant bowl. All three are original pieces bearing clearly marked bases. No chips or repairs, all three would be an excellent addition or start to a collection.

This impressive Approx 40"X 31" giclee is titled "Offering at the Great Gathering, Meeting the Lewis and Clark Expedition September 4 1805, Jesse W Henderson". With its bold colors and amazing attention to detail its easy to see why his work is so sought after. Limited edition, it is #154 of an unknown amount as the inscription is partially obscured by matt border. Jesse Henderson is a Montana painter who paints Indian themes to encourage interest and to educate. His images of the Lewis and Clark expedition were adopted by the US Postal Service, museums and corporations to commemorate the expeditions 2004 bicentennial.

John Tracy original Native American Quiver artwork

Stunning framed native quiver and arrows by the Tracy family of artists. Leather quiver appears to be supple tanned deerskin and embellished with Barber half dollar coins. Frame measures approx 38"X19". That this is a family collaboration piece with contributions by Both John II and John III with the framework and matting done by Mickey Tracey make this a unique piece. Signed on reverse by both John II and John III Tracy. John III Tracy has received the top award at the Rough Rider International Art Show held in Williston, N.D., has been featured on TV and can claim country singer Randy Travis as one of his clients. In 2000 he was the featured artist for Nebraskaland Days held every year in North Platte, Neb. For the event's poster he painted an image of an Indian encampment.

There are many other unidentified signatures all executed with different writing styles and instruments. No COA but the names signed on this ball match up to the 1980 All Star team roster and we will provide a copy with the ball. This ball has been in the donors possession for approx 20 years.

Killer Folk art railroad locomotive weathervane

This Folk built locomotive copper weathervane is cool cool cool. Approx. 36 " long with great patina. It has a few condition issues, there are a few creases or winkles here and there and a few small parts missing but that just adds to the character. Original Lyman Byxbe Estes Park Colorado artwork

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 21 of 91)      

This black and white etching is titled Longs in Autumn and features Longs Peak from a northern view. Framed and under glass it measures approx 15"X12". Lyman Byxbe was born near Pittsfield, Illinois on February 28, 1886. Byxbe and his wife began traveling in 1922 to Estes Park, Colorado, as summer visitors. By 1930 he had set up a studio and soon had a well established shop on Elkhorn Avenue. He was elected to the Chicago Society of Etchers, and had a one man show of sixty-some items at the Smithsonian in 1937-38. Byxbe died in Estes Park on March, 27, 1980.
