serial #2017266, 32 Win. Spl., 24" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a lovely 1954 manufactured rifle, the metal surfaces retaining 99% plus strong original blue. The checkered walnut pistolgrip buttstock and forend rate excellent with a couple light handling marks and a few small spots of light flaking at the front bottom of the forend. The checkering remains crisp and sharp and the checkered steel shotgun buttplate with widow's peak retains 99% original blue. The rifle is sighted with its original hood front sight, standard open sporting rear sight and Super Grade swivels are included. An exceptional Model 64 Deluxe which has seen little if any use. The action retains 99% original blue with a couple very fine specks of silvering along the edges of the lever and is factory drilled and tapped for receiver sight. The hammer, trigger and nosecap retain 98-99% original blue with only some very light operational wear on the hammer. The smooth walnut pistolgrip buttstock and forearm rate excellent retaining all their original finish with a couple pin size blemishes not worth the mention if it wasn't for the high condition of this rifle. The rifle is sighted with a ramp mounted beaded front sight, hood in place and a standard open sporting rear sight. A fabulous 1956 manufactured 71 rifle. (59165-11) {C&R}

serial #1751, 50 CF, 8" round barrel with a bright near excellent bore. This is a wonderful rolling block pistol, the barrel retaining about 95% original blue showing some handling marks and areas faintly thinning to gray patina under bright light. There is a small repair behind the front sight, perhaps to re-secure it, but it is very well done and unobtrusive. The frame retains about 90% bold case-hardened colors, still present on the straps, with some areas thinning and toning to a pleasant gray patina, a small spot of oxidation staining at the high edge on the left side and some scattered minor freckling. The hammer and breech block are bright while the other small parts retain almost all of their brilliant fire blue and straw colors. The stock screws show some light slot wear but the frame screw heads are clean. The left side address and patent dates are crisp as are the proper "P" and "S" proofs. The smooth walnut grip and forend remain in near excellent condition showing just a patch of moderate dings on the base, some more minor scattered handling marks and strong original finish. The left side grip is stamped with a wonderful crisp "CRS" cartouche. Both tangs are numbered "1751" while the upper tang and grip are assembly-numbered alike "1553". serial #14647, .31 cal, 4" octagon barrel with a moderately oxidized bore showing good rifling throughout. This revolver is described and pictured on pages 61 and 68 of Colt's Pocket '49 It's Evolution Including the Baby Dragoon & Wells Fargo by Jordan & Watt. The authors describe it as likely one of the first 4" barrel revolvers produced (of the only about 125 made) and also the only known example with a left hand-stamped barrel address. The metal surfaces are mostly a mottled gray-brown patina showing some scattered light tool marks and areas of light pitting that show evidence of an old cleaning. The screw heads show some light slot wear and the left hand-stamped two line New York barrel address and "COLTS PATENT" on the frame remain legible. The stagecoach cylinder scene remains mostly visible with areas obscured by old pitting and the "COLTS PATENT" on the cylinder is rather soft. The brass backstrap and correct round triggerguard retain strong silver finish with areas worn to pale ocher patina and some scattered light dings. The smooth one-piece walnut grip is un-numbered and remains in very good condition showing a bit of older-added finish, a repaired 3" crack along the right side, a few scattered smaller cracks and dings. The arbor is a later part with grease groove numbered "4364" and the wedge is numbered "03971", but the remaining serialized parts are matching. Barrel-to-frame fit is solid and the action seems to function well mechanically with good timing and lockup. This revolver has seen some honest use but remains a fine and very rare published example. serial #106977, .44 cal, 8" round barrel with a moderately oxidized bore showing bright areas and strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this 1863-made revolver have mostly toned to a pleasant mottled gray-brown patina showing some spots of scattered pinprick pitting and some tool marks around the wedge. The frame and loading lever still show some strong colors remaining in the protected areas. The New York barrel address and "COLTS PATENT" on the frame are clearly legible, the cylinder scene is still quite nice and the parts are stamped with clear military sub-inspector markings. The revolver is equipped with iron backstrap and cut for shoulder stock and the brass triggerguard has toned to a medium goldenrod patina showing some light dings near the toe. The smooth one-piece walnut grip is ink-numbered to the gun and remains in very good condition showing some old light chips around the edges, dings, overall smoothing and faint remnants of cartouches on either side. All of the serialized parts are matching including the wedge and the action seems to function well mechanically with a crisp hammer, solid timing and lockup. Included is a rather nicely-made older mahogany case lined with heavy cotton twill. The case shows a few old small chips and drying cracks scattered about while the lining has some spots of moderate staining and one separator has come loose. The revolver rests upside down in the case and the compartments hold a selection of period accessories including a partially full japanned tin of Eley caps, small Federal Eagle powder flask, rather well-used "COLTS PATENT" dual cavity bullet mould and an assortment of lead projectiles. This early Outdoorsman remains in excellent condition with about 95% original blue showing some light wear on the grip frame, high edge wear, turn ring on the recessed cylinder, scattered light scratches and few oxidation blemishes. The standard trigger and hammer retain bold case-hardened colors with light to moderate operational wear. The diamond checkered walnut factory grips with silver S&W medallions are numbered to the gun and rate very good to excellent with light scattered handling marks. This revolver is equipped with a half-moon front sight, black blade adjustable rear sight plus it still times and locks up correctly, and all appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun. Included is a correct factory two-piece red box with steel reinforced corners that is correctly end labeled to the gun, but non-factory numbered to another revolver. The original penciled number on the bottom of the box has long since worn away but there is a sticker marked "675228 / Bat E, 172". The box rates about good with scattered light wear and scuffing plus one corner of the cover is torn. A solid investment for the person looking for an Outdoorsman to fill out his collection. The standard trigger and hammer retain bold case-hardened colors with minor operational wear. The checkered walnut factory Magna square butt grips with silver S&W medallions are numbered to the gun and rate excellent. serial #40224, 38 Super, 5'' barrel with an excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this 1947 pistol retain about 98% original factory blue with some scattered light freckling, light handling marks and slight signs of operational use. It features the very early matte finish on the top radius of the slde, the thumb safety toning slghtly to plum. The brown checkered Coltwood grips are about excellent with sharp points and no real blemishes to speak of. This 2nd Model is equipped with fixed sights and is interestingly marked ''Government Model'' on the right of the receiver above the serial number. This marking was to only be used on the .45 caliber frames, apparently this message was not passed down to the machinist and he marked around 300 guns incorrectly. According to Sheldon's book Colt's Super .38: The Production History, he states he has only observed five of these guns and possibly the highest serial number produced with this anomaly is 40320. Serial number 40012 is pictured in the book and serial numbers 40001, 40114 and 40215 are mentioned by the author, giving this gun further provenance and putting it well within the known range. Colt shipping records indicate that a very high percentage of these guns between the 40000-43000 serial range were shipped overseas, pistols that remained in the US have always been very difficult to procure. Included is the original purple hinge-top box in about fair condition, the ''Colt Automatic Pistol Super.38'' label is in very good shape, the remainder of the box shows worn areas on the edges, a 1'' piece missing from the side of the lid, two separated corners and scattered handling marks. Inside the box is the original fold-out manual and shooting suggestions pamphlet. A provided factory letter indicates this gun was part of a five gun shipment to the George Worthington Company in Cleveland, Ohio in June of 1947. (229281-2) {C&R}

The barrel, receiver and floorplate retain about 98% original finish with a couple areas of light freckling, a small scuff on the barrel and a couple other light handling marks. The bolt handle has a faint pewter tone and the safety switch has toned to dark plum, the bolt shows faint signs of operational wear and a matching serial number is electric-penciled on the bottom. The checkered walnut pistolgrip stock with Standard Rifle checkered steel buttplate is about excellent, there is a small tool mark next to the rear triggerguard screw and a few other scattered light handling marks. The pistol has the usual Gold Cup features of the period including a Patridge front sight, Colt Accro rear sight, long match trigger with overtravel stop, chamfered recoil spring plug, serrated flat slide rib, serrated frontstrap and arched mainspring housing (optional feature) to name a few. The pistol includes a two-piece woodgrain factory box that is correctly end labeled and numbered to the gun and a single factory magazine. The box is marked "GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH" but this early pistol is correctly devoid of "Gold Cup" on the slide. The box rates very good to excellent with light edge wear and one lightly dinged corner. This fine 1933 made commercial pistol retains strong condition with about 87-89% original blue finish, the grip frame having toned to pewter but the grip safety still has strong color along with moderate edge wear, scratches, a few small oxidation stains and limited minor pitting. The double diamond checkered walnut factory grips rate about good to perhaps very good with light to moderate diamond point wear on the right panel at the butt, a few moderate dings on both panels and other light handling wear. There is a later professionally applied inscription below the ejection port on the slide that reads "C.M. ADAMS / TOLEDO O. /U.S.A.". Nothing significant came to light on Mr. Adams but he was obviously proud enough of his fine new acquisition to have it engraved with his name. The pistol includes a single two-tone Barnes & Kolbert Mfg. Co. marked magazine with plain pinned base. Overall, this is well used and cared for Government Model pistol. (89271-1) {C&R}

The metal surfaces on this very attractive custom-engraved shotgun retain about 98 to near 99% post-engraving blue, there being the remnants of some very light pinprick pitting on the magazine support extension and a few spots on the receiver, they are very unobtrusive and one must really look for them. The carrier and bolt show only very light operational wear with most of their vibrant engine turning still brilliant. The arm is engraved loosely in a factory No. 5 pattern with gun dogs left and right, along with quail, all inlaid in gold, this against a meadow backdrop and flanked by excellent quality open flowing scroll with background punch-dot shading. The magazine tube support is properly engraved with a standing pigeon. The checkered straight grip walnut buttstock and semi-beavertail extended forend rate very good with the expected light dings and handling marks that come from the years but with crisp checkering showing only light wear. The barrel and cylinder of this attractive revolver have mostly toned to a pleasant medium gray patina showing a few spots of minor pinprick pitting, some tiny dings and perhaps a few streaks of original blue along some areas of the barrel. The Moore patent marking along the barrel is crisp and clear and the trigger and hammer have toned to a darker gray patina. The brass frame is very nice and is extensively embellished with fine factory foliate scrollwork and punch-dot shading. The frame retains perhaps 90% original silver finish taking on a pleasing tarnish throughout with the high edges worn to ocher brass. The smooth one-piece walnut grip remains in very good plus to near excellent condition retaining most of its original varnish with just some flaking along the bottom edges, light dings and handling marks. What appears to be an original, or at least a very old period replacement, ejector rod is present, barrel-to-frame fit is solid and the action functions crisply with solid timing and lockup. These popular revolvers were strong competitors to those of Smith & Wesson but were not made in great numbers due to the eventual lawsuit brought against them. The barrel of this attractive pistol retains perhaps 20% original blue mostly toned to a deep brown patina with moderate freckling scattered throughout. The barrel flat features silver inlay maker's mark reading "DE BEAUMONT MAESTRICHT" and there are Belgian proofs on the underside of the barrel, not unusual given the city's close proximity to Belgium. The remaining metal surfaces are a mix of gray-brown and silvery case-hardened patina, the hammer and upper tang still showing some wisps of original colors. The lockplate very neatly follows the raised contours of the stock and the metal surfaces are tastefully embellished with some light foliate scrollwork. The breech and tang are both numbered "1", likely indicating this pistol once belonged to a pair and there is an assembly number "2420" on the underside of the barrel that matches a penciled number on the interior of the stock. The checkered walnut stock remains in very good plus condition showing a small smoothed-over shallow chip on the right edge, scattered light dings and handling marks but still maintains a very attractive appearance. The breeches feature a single gold band and they, along with the locks, are embellished with light foliate motifs. There are panoplies of arms along the bows of the triggerguards and the pistols feature silver escutcheons, front sight and monogram plate, a single ramrod tailpipe, pineapple finial and sliding lock safety. The lockplates and hammers are neatly marked "CONWAY" and the barrel flats "MANCHESTER". The finely-checkered walnut stocks remain in near excellent condition retaining most of their original finish and showing scattered light scratches and handling marks; one stock shows a bit more wear with a thin crack at the tip and a few more moderate dings scattered about. A rosewood ramrod with brass tip and iron ferrule is included with one pistol and the other has a simpler brass-tipped hickory rod that is likely and older replacement. .62 cal, 3 1/2" octagon barrels with good bores showing some patches of light pitting scattered about. The metal surfaces have mostly toned to a mottled dark gray and bro...morewn patina showing some old pinprick pitting along the barrels and some strong original bright blue present along the inside of both triggerguards. The breeches feature a single gold band and they, along with the locks, are embellished with light foliate motifs. There are panoplies of arms along the bows of the triggerguards and the pistols feature silver escutcheons, front sight and monogram plate, a single ramrod tailpipe, pineapple finial and sliding lock safety. The lockplates and hammers are neatly marked "CONWAY" and the barrel flats "MANCHESTER". Excellent German Magazine Sporting Rifle by Abesser & Merkel with New York Retailer Marking

serial #22004, 30-06, 20'' part octagon part round barrel with full-length integral matted rib and a bright excellent bore showing sharp rifling. The barreled action retains about 97% maker rust blue, showing a couple very small spots of very light oxidation. The honed follower and races remain bright with the extractor showing some very light remnants of oxidation staining. The bottom metal retains perhaps 90% original color case-hardening which is fading on the front extension and floorplate but very vibrant on the bow of the guard. The floorplate is profusely engraved with a game scene showing a hunter wrestling with a bear, his broken rifle at his feet, hunting knife above his head, while his fellow companion is coming to his rescue with a rifle raised, another bear approaching from the left of the view. The rifle is stocked classic style in an extremely nice grade of French or English walnut which shows fiddle back figure its full-length, the stock rating very good with overall light dings and handling marks from the years. It features a rounded left side shadowline cheekpiece, scalloped horn pistolgrip cap and rounded forend tip and skip-line checkering at front and rear. The barrel is keyed with a single wedge through German silver escutcheons, the arm has European-style swivels and the length of pull to the grooved steel trapdoor buttplate is 14''; there is an oval German silver monogram plate along the toeline which is un-engraved. The rifle is sighted with a simple silver bead atop the raised sporting ramp and three folding leaf rear sight graduated for 100, 200 and 300 yards. The receiver rings have been fitted with steel dual claw bases mounting see-through rings which support a Karl Zeiss Zielklein telescopic sight with single post reticle and very good optics. The scope itself rates very fine showing only light wear and perhaps light handling marks. The bolt handle was bent to facilitate scope clearance and has checkered panels top and bottom of knob with the extended safety marked ''safe'' and ''fire''. The barrel is maker and caliber marked for a 220 grain, 30-06 round on the left diagonal flat and has Sloan Sporting Goods New York retailer marking on the right diagonal flat.
