Very Good with no dust jacket; 8vo - 8" to ...more9" tall; 213 pages; Illustrated Boards. Reprinted 1990 from the 1954 edition. "The author was one of the outstanding German fighter pilots of World War II. He logged over 2,000 flights, shot down 52 enemy aircraft and eventually became Commanding Officer of a Fighter Wing. He had flown over 400 operational missions before being crippled in an astonishing 'last stand' towards the end of the war. He was awarded the Knight's Cross for his achievements. His autobiography describes the background of German Air Force life and the excellent morale of German airmen up to the time of the gradual disintegration of their Air Force."
