Radom VIS-35 Polish Eagle Pre-Occupation Pistol w/Hols., Ex. Mag

Lot # 1678 (Sale Order: 676 of 951)

Pre-Occupation Radom VIS-35 "Polish Eagle" Semi-Automatic Pistol Rig with Holster

Manufactured in 1937, the VIS-35 Pistol was the standard sidearm of Poland, and following the invasion and occupation in September 1939, it became a secondary arm for the Wehrmacht. The pre-occupation pistols show a level of fit and finish not seen on the ones produced for the Germans and bear the Polish Eagle on the left side of the slide between the model, date and patent markings. Fixed sights, "F.B. RADOM/1937r." and "VIS-wz 35/pat. Nr 15567" on the left side of the slide, and numerous small proofs on both sides of the trigger guard. Matching numbers are present on the frame, underside of the slide, rear of the extractor, and the back of the barrel lug. Equipped with a takedown catch and a slotted back strap for mounting a stock (both features absent from the occupation model) and fitted with a pair of checkered grips marked "FB" and "VIS" on the left and right side, respectively. A correct brown leather holster is included, as is an original extra magazine.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very fine, with 75% plus original blue finish, showing high edge wear, scattered spotting and light handling marks. A few areas of bright wear are visible on the left side of the slide and on the front strap, and the protected areas show a thick coating of aged storage grease. The grips are both also very fine, with a few light dings. The holster is good, with some mild scuffs, stains and cracking. Mechanically excellent.

Muscat & Oman FN HP Pistol with Stock Holster and Box

Lot # 1679 (Sale Order: 677 of 951)

Scarce Sultanate of Muscat & Oman Contract Fabrique Nationale High Power Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster Stock, Box and ATF Exemption Letter

Blade front and 500 meter tangent rear sights, an external extractor, stacked matching serial numbers on the right side of the barrel, slide and frame, and the crossed swords and jambiya seal of the Sultanate of Oman on the right side of the slide. This is one of allegedly 36 pistols roll engraved with the Omani crest. According to an FN expert, "The first nine pistols were roll marked with an error in the crest, the consequent 27 pistols had the correct crest," and "there is no indication that these pistols were ever in or used by Oman"; instead, these pistols were sales samples used in an attempt to secure a contract. This example has a correct crest (the scabbard of the dagger points to the left). The back strap is properly slotted for a shoulder stock, and it has a pair of checkered plastic grips. With an unnumbered hardwood board stock with a brown leather flap holster secured with brass rivets, a Fabrique Nationale box hand-numbered to match, English-language instruction sheet, cleaning rod and extra magazine. Among the included paperwork is a photocopy of a 1983 dated ATF letter verifying the shoulder-stocked Muscat & Oman High Power is on the C&R list as acceptable, as well as receipts documenting this pistol by serial number to the collection of William Drollinger.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Near new in box, with 99% plus original blue finish, showing some minor edge wear and handling marks. The grips are in equal condition. The fine box shows some light edge wear and stains, and the excellent stock shows minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Schwarzlose Self-Loading Model 1898 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Lot # 1681 (Sale Order: 679 of 951)

Desirable "Schwarzlose" Self-Loading Model 1898 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine

This is a very desirable example of a Model 1898 Schwarzlose self-loading semi-automatic pistol with only about 500 manufactured. This model was designed by Andreas Schwarzlose of Prussia who was most noted for his early water cooled machine gun designs. The original design was developed in 1894 with improved designs in 1896 and this final version in 1898. They are fairly rare as only 500 were ever believed to have been produced with a large number of them being sold or confiscated in Russia and reissued by the imperialist Russian forces. The functioning of this model is what is so unique in that this final design actually employs a "rotating bolt mechanism" that is very similar in design in the current M16 rifle. The bolt is mounted on the top rear of the pistol and it has a small race-way underneath with four opposed locking lugs on the front end with the one piece having the corresponding set of four locking lugs inside the breech end of the barrel, just like the barrel extensions on the M16 rifles. As the cartridge is fired it drives the bolt rearward where the curved race-way rotates the bolt and unlocks it. Very unique for an 1896 pistol design! The barrel is fitted with a integral, high front sight and a unique rotating/adjustable rear sight that is graduated from 1-5 (100-500 meters). The right side of the barrel, upper receiver, and top of the bolt all have the early German "Double Crown/U" proofmark. It has matching serial number on the lower receiver, trigger, magazine, and bolt and striker (partial "34"). It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips. This pistol was ahead of it's time!

Class: Antique

Fine with 60% of the dark period arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with wear and thinning on the sides of the upper frame and underside of the bolt from cycling the action with the grip straps showing a gray patina. The grips are in very fine condition with most of their varnish on each side with nice distinct checkering mixed with some minor handling marks and light scratches on the upper right side. Mechanically excellent. This is a very unique example of an early semi-automatic pistol that is in really nice, high condition.

Mannlicher Model 1900 Pistol Presented to the Sultan of Turkey

Lot # 1682 (Sale Order: 680 of 951)

Magnificent Sultan of Turkey Presentation Exhibition Grade Mannlicher Model 1900 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Deluxe Hand Tooled Leather Bound, French Fitted Display Case

This is an exceptionally rare, early production 1900 Mannlicher semi-automatic presentation pistol that has been lavishly factory deep relief chisel engraved and fitted with a beautiful set of walnut grips that have been adorned with various inlays. The Calligraphic monogram of Sultan Abdülhamid II is among the medallion designs. The pistol itself also carries a factory inscription or presentation which experts attribute to the Sultan of Turkey. This pistol, various accessories and tools are all housed in a hand tooled, gold guilded and dyed, leather bound display case. The 1900 Mannlicher pistol itself is a very early design that was very unique for the time in that it was blowback operated and fired the 7.65mm Mannlicher automatic cartridge (similar to the 7.63 Mauser cartridge). The interesting aspect of the pistol is that it uses an internal magazine that is loaded from the top, via stripper clips, which are positioned in the clip guides located on top of the slide, and it has a two-piece barrel. At the time of its development, this pistol was considered very innovative as well as strong and reliable; it fired a high velocity cartridge, making this a highly desirable and sought after weapon for any country. The pistol, as noted, has been engraved on over 95% of the metal surfaces. The only area not engraved is the front grip strap which carries the inscription and the barrel rib. The engraving is an early deep relief Germanic style that has been executed in a vine and floral pattern with the punch dot background. It is fitted with a set of standard walnut grips that have been inlaid with very nicely detailed vine and floral pattern that compliment the metal engraving of the pistol. In the center section of each grip panel there is a 1 1/2 inch by 1 inch oval panel, inlayed into the grip which has been beautifully carved with a large sun-burst pattern in the background, over a set of cross-flags that depict the Cross and Crescent symbol of the Ottoman Empire or Sultan of Turkey. Surrounding the flags on both sides are various implements of war, which include swords, pistols, cannons, lances, pikes, etc. The factory inscription is in three lines and reads "RHEINISCHE METALLWAAREN U./ MASCHINEN FABRIK, ABTEILUNG SÖMMERDA EHRHARDT WERKE". A loose translation is "Metalware and Machine Fabricating Department, at Sommerda works, from Ehrhardt Works". A brief history or connection of this inscription to the pistol and to the company is in order. Heinrich Ehrhardt was a young engineer who in 1889 accepted a subcontract from the large German manufacturing firm of Hörder Bergwerks- und Hüttenverein (HBH), a major ammunition contract for the Imperial German Army. After completion of this contract, he developed several new patents and also designed a new rapid firing cannon which he later sold to Norway and eventually Germany. With the proceeds from these contracts and with the help of several venture capitalists in 1891 he formed the new company of Rheinische Metallwaaren- und Maschinenfabrik, near Erfurt. In 1901, he acquired the old Munitions-und Waffenfabrik AG of Sömmerda in Thuringia, previously known as Dreysesche Gewehrfabrik, a manufacturer of handguns and cartridges. From this small start, he was able to develop several unique patents on metal fabricating techniques which he developed into the Rheinmetall Works, one of the largest German metal working companies in Europe. Based on what the inscription says and the time frame for this pistol, this describer theorizes that this pistol was probably a gift or presentation to the Sultan of Turkey for a military contract that may have used some of the raw material from this company or actually for small arms fabricated at the Sommerda works, probably in the 1901-1905 time frame. The Imperial German government and the Turkish Empire were very close allies during this time and sold thousands of rifles, pistols, cannons and various war material to each other. As noted, the pistol and various accessories are all housed in a beautifully leather bound French fitted case that has been overlaid with several panels of almost a damascene leather pattern on all four sides as well as the lid. The center section of the lid has a raised hand carved leather coat of arms that looks like a double flag hanging on each side with a turban on top, with a crescent moon in the center. There is no name, markings or inscription on the coat of arms. The bottom front of the case is marked in gold "H&C SCHULTZE DUSSELDORF". Inside the case are five compartments one for the pistol, screwdriver, cleaning rod, silver oiler bottle and small pin punch (which is missing). The lining is a light blue felt with the following

Designed by Ferdinand Ritter Von Mannlicher of Austria, the Mannlicher Carbine is lightweight and compact, and uses a short recoil action with a concealed internal hammer, a reciprocating cocking lever that doubles as a hammer position indicator and a detachable double-stack magazine assembly. Steyr Mannlicher "Short" Model 1905 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Lot # 1684 (Sale Order: 682 of 951)

Scarce and Desirable Steyr Mannlicher "Short" Model 1905 Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is a very fine example of a rare Mannlicher "Short" Model 1905 self-loading pistol. These could technically be called their "compact" model as they used a shortened/reduced frame and upper receiver/barrel area that functioned and operated exactly like the large Model 1905 pistol. It has the same markings as the larger model with the left side marked "WAFFENFABRIK/STEYR" and the right marked "SYSTEM/MANNLICHER." It has the fixed blade front sight, and the "V" notch rear sight is machined into the very rear of the slide between the serrated areas. The serial number is on the underside of the frame extension, left side of the barrel and chamber. It is fitted with serrated walnut grips.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very fine with 95% of the original blue finish overall and only edge and high spot wear. The grips are very good with distinct serrations on both sides showing minor handling marks and light pressure dents overall. Mechanically functions intermittently as the slide does not always release after magazine follower is depressed and hammer retracted. This is a very scarce and desirable short Model 1905 Mannlicher self-loading pistol that is rarely seen for sale.

Webley-Fosbery 45 ACP Automatic Revolver w/Clips

Lot # 1685 (Sale Order: 683 of 951)

Scarce Webley-Fosbery Model 1902 Automatic Revolver Chambered for 45 ACP

Manufactured in limited quantity (approximately 4,000 total, all variations), the Webley-Fosbery was meant as a counter-point to the early semi-automatic pistols then emerging on the market, providing the large-bore firepower and relative mechanical simplicity of a revolver with the smooth single-action operation of an automatic. While mechanically novel, the tide of history was on the side of the semi-autos, with Browning's designs in particular able to scratch the firepower itch. Patridge blade front and notch rear sights, with matching numbers on the barrel and frame, and "WEBLEY-FOSBERY" on the left side of the top strap. The left frame side plate bears the "flying bullet" trademark ahead of "455 CORDITE", with "SAFE" in raised letters on the left grip panel. Fitted with a lanyard ring. The right side of the barrel is engraved "FREDERICK H. ROBINSON 45 ACP", and the rear cylinder face has been "shaved" for half-moon clips, with over 40 steel clips included.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very fine, with 85% plus high polish blue finish, showing some light tool marks on the front sight blade, a small amount of spotting, bright edge and cycling wear and minor handling marks overall. The cylinder is refinished, most likely done at the time of conversion. The grips are also very fine with a few light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive Mauser Model 1878 "Zig-Zag" Revolver

Lot # 1686 (Sale Order: 684 of 951)

Attractive Mauser Model 1878 "Zig-Zag" Single Action Revolver

Developed in 1878, the Zig-Zag revolver was the first handgun designed and developed by Paul Mauser and his firm. A competitor to be the first centerfire cartridge-fed handgun adopted by the German military, the 1878 scored high marks in overall performance, though concerns about the complexity of the design led them to choose the 1879 Reichs revolver instead. At the heart of the mechanism is the combination of an angular track (the titular "Zig-Zag") machined into the side of the cylinder and a toothed reciprocating bar linked to the hammer, which serves to both advance and lock the cylinder, in contrast to the more commonly seen pawl/sprocket and stop arrangement. Additionally, the spring responsible for resetting the cocking bar also powers the hammer, replacing the grip frame mounted leaf spring commonly seen in that era. For loading, the barrel assembly is hinged at the rear of the top strap, automatically pushing the hammer back to the safety notch when opened, with the closure latch doubling as the lever for a star-pattern extractor assembly. Sights are fixed, with "GEBR. MAUSER & Cie OBERNDORF a/N WURTTEMBERG.1878.PATENT" on top of the barrel rib, "crown/crown/U" on the left side of the barrel shroud and on the cylinder, and "38" or "738" on multiple components. With a pair of fine Gutta Percha grip panels with raised dragon and ho-oh bird themed decoration.

Class: Antique

Fine, with 70% of the original blue finish on the frame and barrel, showing shallow pitting on the barrel, scattered mild spotting, edge wear, and handling marks. The cylinder retains 40% nitre blue with spots of pitting. 50% dark original case colors remain on the hammer and takedown lever. The grips are very fine, with an extremely small chip absent from the left panel near the top of the back strap, a few minor dings, and excellent decoration. Mechanically excellent.

Boer War Lee-Speed Patent Magazine Lee-Metford Mk I* Rifle

Lot # 1687 (Sale Order: 685 of 951)

Historic Documented Boer War Lee-Speed Patent Magazine Lee-Metford Mk I* Bolt Action with Inscribed Stock

British Lee-Speed Patent Magazine Lee-Metford Rifle Mk I* used by a Boer soldier during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). The right side of the rifle stock is deeply and artistically carved: "J.W. Rossouw/Muscind" with Germanic style letters in two lines. This rifle is illustrated and described on page 67 of "Carvings from the Veldt" by Dave C. George. This book contains descriptions and photographs of many Boer War rifles with elaborately carved stocks. George explains that Lee-Metford and Mauser rifles used or captured by Boer commandos and British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand volunteer soldiers were frequently elaborately carved with individual soldiers' names, unit markings or service histories. These distinctive and historic rifles are a unique feature of the Anglo-Boer War. The description of this rifle states that J.W. Rossouw and "Muscind" could not be identified in historical records but that it is probable that this rifle was confiscated by the Boer South African Republic during the abortive "Jameson Raid" in January 1896 that proceeded the Boer War. The Lee-Metford rifles smuggled into Johannesburg to facilitate an uprising against the South African Republic in conjunction with the Jameson Raid were seized by the Boers and subsequently used against the British in the Boer War. At the end of the war in 1902, captured Boer rifles were popular trophies for the victorious British forces, and rifles with Boer carvings on the stocks were widely distributed throughout the British Empire. Research documents included with the rifle state that there is no specific evidence this rifle was one of the weapons used in the Jameson Raid beyond the fact that it was clearly owned by a Boer soldier at some point and is a commercial Lee-Metford rifle with no crown property marks. The right side of the butt socket is roll-stamped: "LEE-SPEED/PATENTS" in two lines. The serial number is roll-stamped on the upper right side of the receiver, on the rear of the bolt handle and the inside of the rear sight leaf. All of the visible serial numbers match. The rifle has an eight-round detachable magazine with cut-off on the right side of the receiver, folding leaf rear sight graduated to "16" on the leaf and marked "300" and "400" on the left side of the sight base and folding long range sight on the left sight of the base with elevation dial and pointer on the left side of the forearm. The two-piece nose cap has a lug for the Pattern 1888 sword bayonet and double loops for the sling and stacking swivel. The bolt has a sliding dust cover. The Mk I* receiver correctly lacks a safety catch. The two-piece walnut stock and forearm have grasping grooves ahead of the receiver and a steel buttplate with hinged trap. The English walnut stock, forearm and handguard are oil finished. The rifle is fitted with a russet leather sling that appears to be original to the rifle. This is a historic and documented example of a British commercial Lee-Metford MkI* rifle that was used by a Boer citizen-soldier in the Anglo Boer War.

Class: Antique

Good. This rifle shows wear expected of a combat-carried firearm. The receiver, barrel, magazine and other steel components retain traces of the original blue finish in protected areas. The balance of the finish shows moderate to heavy service wear and has aged to an attractive plum-colored patina. The buttplate shows considerable wear with large amounts of dark age discoloration. The receiver markings and serial numbers are clear. The stock, forearm and handguard are in good overall condition with numerous minor handling marks. The carving on the right side of the stock is sharp and deep; there are several minor dents in the carving that indicate that the rifle was carved during the actual service life. This is a scarce and well documented example of a combat-used Lee-Metford MKI* rifle from the Anglo-Boer War. Most soldier-carved, Boer-War Mauser and Lee-Metford rifles and carbines are found in Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa - these historic rifles are rarely offered for sale in the United States.

Officer Training Corps Martini Action Rifle

Lot # 1688 (Sale Order: 686 of 951)

Officer Training Corps Marked British Martini Action Single Shot Rifle with Enfield Mark III Bayonet Lug

Free of maker's markings on the receiver, this is a Martini single shot rifle with a full length forearm, handguard and forearm cap assembly directly patterned after (if not taken directly from) a Mark III Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle with "205/BC" and "BRADFIELD/O.T.C" stamped on the right side of the buttstock. Established in 1908, the Officer Training Corps functioned much like the American Reserve Officer Training Corps, providing skills training to students in anticipation of joining the military upon graduation. Originally intended to solve shortfalls in officers for home units (Militia, Yeomanry, Territorial Force, etc.), World War One saw the OTC used as a recruitment ground for the regular army. The OTC was divided into the Senior Division (operating out of the universities) and the Junior Division (active in the public schools). Established in 1850 and active today as a 13-18 independent school, Bradfield College was host to a Junior Division contingent of the OTC. Though not documented, this was likely intended as a drill/training weapon, suitable for honing skills that could be transferred to the WWI-standard Enfield Mark III while making use of the otherwise obsolete stock of Martini rifles. Blade and tangent sights, a set of sling swivels, and a flat steel buttplate.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Fine, with 60% of the blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks. The wood is also fine, showing wear and tear appropriate for active use on the training field, with a number of dents, scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.

Ishevsk Arsenal SVD Dragunov Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle

Lot # 1689 (Sale Order: 687 of 951)

Desirable Ishevsk Arsenal Cold War Production SVD Dragunov Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle with Scope

Introduced in 1964, the SVD was designed around the Soviet doctrine of the infantry sniper; as more and more infantrymen were equipped with submachine guns and assault rifles to meet the demands of close-quarters urban fighting, the loss in overall range was mitigated by issuing full-powered rifles to skilled marksmen permanently attached to infantry squads, who would engage threats outside the reach of the rest of the unit, in addition to thinning out targets of opportunity like officers, NCOs, radiomen, and the like. While NATO forces did not have a comparable unit through the Cold War, the Designated Marksman concept did come into its own during the War on Terror, with repurposed M14s, AR-10/AR-15 derivatives and similar rifles filling the niche. Hooded pin front and tangent rear sights, with the "arrow in triangle" arsenal mark over "1986" and the serial number on the underside of the receiver, with matching bolt carrier, bolt, hammer, safety lever, gas cylinder, receiver cover and trigger housing. Milled receiver, with integral scope rail on the left side. Smooth stock, with vented hand guard and a thumbhole buttstock with clamp-on cheekpiece and a cupped buttplate. Included with the rifle is a "NCO-1" marked rifle scope with a rubber lens cap and a sliding sunshield, as well as a canvas scope cover.

Class: Modern Long Gun

Excellent, with 95% of the arsenal matte black finish, showing some minor handling marks and edge wear overall. A few of the smaller components (bolt, gas system, etc) show sub-surface pitting. The stock is also very fine, with a few dings and scuffs. Optics are crisp. Mechanically excellent. A very desirable sniper rifle from the Cold War Era.

World War II British Enfield No. 4 Mk I (T) Rifle with Scope

Lot # 1690 (Sale Order: 688 of 951)

World War II British Enfield No. 4 Mk I (T) Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with No. 32 Mk I Type Sniper Scope and Mount

This is a 1943 dated WWII British Enfield No. 4 Mk I(T) sniper rifle that is fitted with an early No. 32 Mk I type scope and mount as upgraded/rebuilt by Israel. Original examples were used through out WWII and into the early 1960s with this example probably having been sold or smuggled into the State of Israel after WWII. The receiver is marked "No. 4 Mk. I T", and the socket is marked "M47C/1945/R39798/TR". The mount has been remarked: "Mk1/M1883", and the scope, as noted, has been upgraded/rebuilt by the newly formed State of Israel, as the top of the scope tube is marked: "4040 70 4100 100". (followed) by small Hebrew writing. During the upgrade process, the windage and elevation knobs have been completely changed/upgraded to a more modern click adjustable (slightly audible) versions. The top and bottom half of the scope rings are stamped "418" and "419" respectively. It retains the original matching numbered bolt. The buttstock is still correctly stamped with the "S51" markings behind the grip area and the original scope number on top of the wrist area has been stamped out. It also retains its original matching numbered forestock. The top of the comb is fitted with the correct wooden cheekpiece held on with two wooden screws. It comes with one 10 round box magazine that has been numbered to match the rifle. There were approximately 26,000 of these rifles manufactured during WWII, with most seeing heavy use during the war and a large number sold or given to other countries by the United Kingdom after the war.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Very fine with 95% plus of its arsenal black painted type metal finish overall showing light edge and high spot wear. The wood components are all in very fine condition with a nice matching medium color overall with clear sharp proofs and markings. The scope and mount retain 95% of its refurbished black finish with clear sharp optics. A very fine, good looking WWII British sniper rifle with an interesting Israeli upgraded sniper scope.

Korean War Trophy Izhevsk Nagant 91/30 Rifle w/Bayonet, Docs

Lot # 1691 (Sale Order: 689 of 951)

Russian Model 91/30 Bolt Action Rifle Documented as a USMC Korean War Trophy, with Bayonet and North Korean Identity Book

Included with the grouping are two capture papers made out from the Headquarters of the 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division of the Fleet Marine Force, dated 30 November 1951 and 3 January 1952. Both are made out to a Staff Sergeant Hershel R. King, "who was on duty in Korea after 25 June 1950", identify the rifle by serial number (using the "KP" in the number in plain English, instead of transliterating to "KR") and mention the bayonet, with the second also listing an "Enemy ID Booklet" by serial number. The 1st was deployed to Korea via Pusan in August of 1950, and would immediately engage the enemy in the Battle of Pusan Perimeter, as well as participating in the famed Battle of Inchon. From the time between the unit's deployment in 1950 and the first capture paper in 1951, South Korea and it's U.N. allies had gone from being driven down to holding less than 10% of the peninsula, drove their way nearly across the Chinese border, and then settled back into a stalemate at the 38th Parallel that in many ways never really ended. In 1954 an armistice was established, and in 1955 the 1st departed Korea. The rifle is Soviet construction, 1943 vintage, and typical of the World War II surplus ordnance that was shared out to Communist allies in the post-war era, with post front and tangent rear sights, unnumbered bolt, mixed-numbered floorplate and the letters "F.F.W." cut into the right side of the buttstock (significance unknown). The bayonet is a traditional cruciform socket model, 20 inches overall. The ID book is untranslated, but appears to be for a North Korean citizen born in 1933 and issued the document in 1948; he would have been about 17-18 during the War.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Very good with some replaced components, half of the arsenal blue finish remaining, with mild scratches on the magazine, scuffing around the muzzle, and light handling marks. A few deep dents are present on the trigger guard around the magazine. The otherwise good stock shows wear and tear appropriate to field use, with a number of scuffs and dents, chipping around the cleaning rod slot, and some cracks at the buttplate. The paper items show age appropriate staining and wear, with the 1951 letter tearing at the creases. Mechanically fine. Korean War Trophies are seldom encountered.

Chinese Type 53 Carbine, Documented USMC Vietnam Trophy

Lot # 1692 (Sale Order: 690 of 951)

Chinese Type 53 Bolt Action Carbine, Documented U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Field Trophy with Capture Papers

Manufactured in China, the Type 53 Carbine is closely patterned after the Soviet Type 44 Mosin-Nagant Carbine, to include the signature side-folding bayonet. In use with China into the 1960s, the Type 53 was made obsolete by the introduction of the Type 56 Carbine and Rifle; many were relegated to militia use or exported, including a number to North Vietnam for use by the NVA and Viet Cong. Two "Registration of War Trophy Firearms" DD603 forms from July of 1969 are included, both made out to a Lance Corporal John D. Gingrich of Headquarters Company, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, identifying this item by serial number. L/Cpl Gingrich's war experience was not documented. The 1st Regiment was in Vietnam 1965-1971; among other distinctions they were heavily involved in retaking Hue during the Tet Offensive, and were among the last American infantry units to depart the country. Post front and tangent rear sights, with a cruciform side-folding bayonet attached to the barrel, "26" factory mark and "1960" date on the chamber, matching numbers on the bolt and floorplate, smooth stock and an original Vietnam War North Vietnamese leather and canvas sling.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Fair, but above average by jungle warfare standards, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, shallow pitting concentrated along the edges of the wood and at the muzzle, and deeper pitting on the buttplate. The heavily worn wood shows some dents, scuffs and chips. Mechanically fine.

2016 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2LT Coupe

Lot # 1695 (Sale Order: 693 of 951)

Documented Exceptional One Owner 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2LT Coupe with around 10,000 Actual Miles

There are few other cars that are quite as iconically American as a Chevrolet Corvette, and this example certainly doesn't disappoint. Manufactured in 2016, it features a 6.2L General Motors Gen. V LT1 V8 DI/VVT power plant pushing approximately 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels and an 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. The exterior is painted in beautiful Long Beach Red which was first offered in 2016, and the interior is mainly light grey leather with contrasting dark grey accents. This car is loaded with over $10,000 in extra features including a color matched carbon fiber hood and a contrasting removable roof panel, heads-up display, chrome aluminum wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, remote start, front curb view cameras, and premium audio, just to name a few. Included with the car is various Corvette racing memorabilia including clothing, quality scale models/toys, and a plethora of Corvette literature. With just over 10,000 miles clocked on the odometer, this Vette is just getting broken in, and surprisingly for a car in this class, has ample trunk space for your clubs when heading to the course or just about anything else you might purchase this weekend!

Class: Other

Excellent overall. This Corvette has been extremely well kept and is in exceptional condition, with very little evidence of use, runs great and is ready for the road.
