Notes: Kept by factory as experimental prototype of aluminum barrel, and with low serial number from first manufacture.

Narrative: Colt had experimented with the aluminum alloy barrel concept, as well as the aluminum frame, sideplate, and cylinder. Barrel and cylinder in aluminum was discarded, though some production was made with aluminum alloy cylinders in the U.S. government contract for the Aircrewman revolvers.
