1967 Mercury Cougar

Lot # 3002 (Sale Order: 2 of 415)      

VIN #: 7F91C649585. Coupe, 302 V-8 Engine with Select Shift Merc-O-Matic transmission, RWD, gasoline fuel type, Nordic Blue color, and Deluxe wheel covers. A true ?survivor? car family owned since 1967. In 1976, the sellers father transferred it to the seller for $1. In the early 80?s the engine was replaced due to a bad piston and replaced with a 302 motor. Multiple touch up spots on paint. 3 small dents on roof. The car was taken off the road soon after, garage kept ever since. Musty. Currently not running. ?Title in transit, Title will not be present day of Auction? The car has been donated and proceeds benefit Muhlenburg College in Allentown, Pa.

Shadowbox frame measures 22.5" x 17.5" and presents "bubble" glass cover that contains 9 items including whistle, boxes, lines and net making/repair devices, many belonging to Jacob Weisel, a pigeoneer from Quaker Hill, six miles from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Collection was gathered by Charles Hoffman Eldon a taxidermist from Williamsport, Pa (as indicated by plaque) and presented to Colonel Henry W. Christopher Witt (1675-1765) was a physician, scientist, botanist, clock maker, artist, musician, and astronomer in Germantown and a member of the theosophical colonists that colonized the Germantown area. Historic Revolutionary War letter dated "Great Valley, 36 miles from Camp, Oct 30th, 1777" to Caesar Rodney (1728-1784) American lawyer, Continental Congressman from Delaware, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and President of Delaware from his brother Thomas Rodney (1744-1811) American lawyer, politician and colonel in the Delaware militia during the American Revolution. 1pp letter regarding battle and particulars including troop movements, casualties, and outcome. Reverse of letter presents ink inscription "From my father to my uncle after Battle of Germantown" Letter measures 12.25" x 8" and has been silked on both obverse and reverse. Bottom of sheet exhibits repaired split with no text involvement. Request detailed transcript.

Collection includes 59 letters (5 in ink and 55 in pencil) detailing camp life, battles and personal news. Hancock was wounded on August 18, 1864 near Petersburg, Virginia.
