Hello my name is Constance Pope, I am a junior at Cleveland High School. After I graduate I plan on going to Navarro College. There I will study vet science. I am the treasurer officer in both FFA and 4-H. I show at T.V.E, as well as Cleveland Livestock Show and Dairy Day. I have shown pigs and chickens at both events. I have shown chickens for nine years and I have shown pigs for five. In school I am a varsity volleyball player and this coming year I will be on the Indianettes. The money I get will be used to purchase another pig as well as the feed for the animal. (We will raise broilers till they are fully grown!)

My name is Dane Fitzgerald and I am in the 5th grade at Hardin ISD. I'm a member of both Hardin 4H and JR. FFA. I have no idea what I'd like to do when I graduate but I'm sure something will come to mind when I'm a little older. For now, all the money I have earned showing has been put away for my college savings. This is my second year to raise broilers for Cleveland Dairy Days. Last year I won Reserve Grand Champion with a meat pen of 3 birds that weighed in at 33.15 lbs. My largest bird was 11.6 lbs, which could easily feed a family of 9-11. This year my birds are on the same track, while they still have a few weeks left of growing I know they will be similar in size and shape. I raise my birds in what's called a family pen with my older sister. Together we work very hard to maintain a clean and dry pen for the birds. Since we order 75 birds and process them all at once we separate the broilers into two separate pens, a cull pen and a show pen. This helps a bit with keeping the litter clean but requires extra work. It is also important that the birds have fresh feed and clean fresh water at all times and that requires us to feed and water 2-3 times a day. It's a lot of work but in the end, it's worth it. Although I'm disappointed I won't be able to show this year and defend my title, I am grateful for the lessons I've learned through out this experience. The biggest lesson I've learned is that in farming and showing, sometimes you have good seasons and sometimes you have bad ones, but it's the people that keep waking up to do the job despite the adversity that have the most success in the end.

Hello,
My name is Kyle Reynolds and I am a Junior at Tarkington H.S. I have shown at Dairy Day since 2010. I started showing in the Pee Wee showmanship class with my sister's pig. I am currently selling my pen of broilers. I have raised broilers for several years. I put a lot of effort into my projects. I stir them once every hour during the day and several times though out the night, adding feed and keeping their water fresh and clean.

Once I graduate High School next year, my plan is to attend Texas A&M University and study either Engineering or Biomedical Sciences. Thank you sincerely for your consideration in purchasing my project. I will use the proceeds to start my next project and put some back for my education.

My name is Mallory Fitzgerald and I am in the 6th grade at Hardin ISD. I'm a member of both Hardin 4H and Hardin JR. FFA. I have a goal to attend the University of Texas A & M to become a veterinarian. All the money I have earned showing has been put away in savings for my college education.

I know the family farm is a reward in itself, because in the end, what really matters is the time spent together putting in the extra work despite the outcome.

Hi, my name is Courtney Nelson and I am a Junior at Cleveland High School. I'm currently serving as Cleveland FFA's President. This year I decided to raise five animals. I've been showing at Dairy Day for the past eight years this would've been my ninth. Outside of FFA I play varsity softball and volleyball and I'm in clubs such as NHS. This is my goat Uno. He has a great personality and has been one of my favorite animals to raise especially since he was going to be my first ever goat to show. Even though I didn't get to show at our county show I did participate in a prospect show and placed 3rd out of 15. Hi, my name is Kaylie Perdue. I am currently a 7th grader at Tarkington Middle School. I am also the Plum Grove 4-H Historian as well as a Liberty County Ambassador.This would have been my second time to show a goat at Dairy Day. I participate in photography, baking and this year I was going to enter a beautiful floral arrangement. I have a great goat this year. My Goat's name is Rain and he weighs about 98 pounds. I am thankful I did get to take Rain to a few progress shows and a few clinics where I learned a lot about him and goat care in general. I spend about 2 hours on school days taking care of him and around 3 on non school days. Since the pandemic I have been spending most of my days exercising, playing with him and making him listen to me practice my Flute. As a 4-Her I pledged to make the best better which means not giving up, so the money I get from Rain will go towards my next goat for Dairy Day.

I am a Senior at Hardin High School. This would have been my second year at Dairy Day. Last year, I won reserve grand champion market goat. I have been showing market goats for 3 years, and breeding goats for 1 year. I was a Calf Scramble participant at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2019. I returned in 2020 to show my Fullblood Boer Doe, KMV1 Snitches Get Stitches. I plan on starting my own herd to help other 4-h/FFA kiddos! After graduation, my objective is to go to Sam Houston University and major in animal science. My market wether goat, Missile, weighs 65 lbs and is 6 months old. He is on the smaller side but he would be perfect for a summer/early fall show! He just needs more time to hit his bloom! During this COVID-19 quarantine, I have spent 4 hours per day with him. He is more of an automatic goat, as soon as you put him against your leg. He digs his feet in and pushes! He is a very level topped dude with a nice hip angle that has the ability to hold more muscle as he gets worked out more! He has a wonderful forearm muscle with a nice, wide front end!

Hello, I am Trevion LeBum. I am a junior currently attending Cleveland High School. This is my first year participating in Dairy Day and FFA and so far, it's had an amazing impact upon my life. I plan on showing a lamb and a goat. Raising these animals has bettered myself as a person, creating more responsibility within me and building trust with my parents. I wake up every morning at 4:30 A.M to feed Ghost (Goat) and Chocolate (Lamb). Ghost weighs about 100 pounds and Chocolate weighs about 130 pounds. Academically, I am a honor roll student maintaining A's and B's. I also play varsity football and basketball. My stepmother suggested I took an agriculture class and get into FFA and I love her for recommending it. I enjoy taking care of these animals and being a part of FFA and I plan on continuing this next year.
