Description
VanDerBrink Auctions is pleased to bring you the Larry and Dawn Menard Collection. Larry and his brother John built Menard to the Midwest mainstay for home improvements. Larry was the face of the company in the Midwest. His wife, Dawn shared a mutual love of cars. They spent years traveling the Midwest buying hard to find cars and memorabilia. Larry passed away and his wife has decided to sell their collection. Plan now to bid and buy a part of this fabulous collection.

We Want to thank you for registering to bid for the Auction.. Here are the auction terms and conditions. By Registering and appointment of bidding number- you agree to all stated auction terms and conditions. NO Exceptions.
The Buyer agrees and by being allowed to bid, agrees to all terms of sale written or announced. Buyer is responsible for payment of all winning bids. The buyer will be responsible for any default in payment. The buyer will not stop payment, chargebacks, or returned checks on purchases. Any default in payment is prosecutable. All our purchases will be settled day of sale or within stated time frame. Titles and docs, if available, will be either given day of sale or mailed.
The buyer agrees that a contract is formed with the seller and VanDerBrink Auctions LLC is acting as an agent of the seller. In the event that the seller has a reserve, VanDerBrink Auctions or staff has the right to bid for the seller up to the reserve.
In the event a bidding dispute would arise, determination is by the auctioneer on the stand. The auctioneers bid will be recognized. VanDerBrink Auctions LLC has the right to reject any bid in person or online for any reason or believed not in good faith. VanDerBrink Auctions LLC has the right to remove a lot from sale in the event of discrepancy and or before a bid is a accepted. Each lot is treated as a seperate lot.
The buyer acknowledges that they are responsible for removal, shipping, and all costs related within stated timeline of auction. If arrangements have not been made with seller or auctioneer, lots not removed within 30 days from date of sale will be considered abandoned and money paid is forfeited. The lot will then revert back to the seller/owner and or sold.
The buyer understands that any loading that is available is at their own risk and VanDerBrink Auctions and or the seller or agent of the seller is not responsible for lots after sold. Not responsible for theft, vandalism, damage, weather damage, or other condition. Ownership transfers upon award of bid/SOLD.

Bidders release-discharge VanDerBrink Auctions LLC for any or all claims arising out of or involving or associated with lot descriptions or pictures.
All vehicles at auction are not smog tested and may require further repairs or modifications to pass inspection in your state. Seller nor auctioneers are liable or responsible. Many vehicles that are barn Finds or have been in storage are to be assumed that they require further work to be road worthy. It is the responsibility of the buyer to evaluate-inspect and does acknowledge buying as is and all sales final with no guarantee of any kind.

This beautiful car is Black in color with matching black convertible top. This beautiful car came from Los Angeles, California where it was till the car was purchased from Jesse James of West Coast Choppers. Jessie took the 57 in on trade for a cycle in 2004. Larry and Dawn were told that the car was considered for a TV debut and was going to be turned into a Custom. Jessie was talked out of the idea and from a friend and the car was sold to Larry and Dawn Menard. There are very few fuel injected 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertibles, that this would be a great addition to any collection. This beautiful car has had a frame off restoration. The owner states that the car is numbers matching and has all original full power, steering, brakes, seats, and windows. This beautiful car has a continental kit and is offset with the wide white walls and hubcaps. The car has great chrome and just beautiful. the car is powered by a 283 Fuel Injected motor and automatic transmission. The odometer shows 8,546 miles on the odometer and restore. You are bidding on a Racecar that was driven in the 1995/6 Indianapolis 500. This is the Menard V6 was the successor to the Buick V6. This is considered a "stock" engine ...moreand was allowed 10 in HG more pressure than the race purpose built V8 of the day, at 55in HG VS 45in HG. To accommodate the extra turbo boost, Team Menard had to get creative with incorporating a larger plenum (to equalize the extra turbo boost pressure) into the body work of the car itself. This is where the "humpback" on the Lola chassis comes from. This Lola/Menard combo was run in the 1995 and 1996 Indianapolis both years. An won the pole position both years. Wildly powerful, this engine was also wildly unreliable. With over 1000HP, trap speeds at Indy were in excess of 250mph in the mid 90's with this combination. All vehicles and items must be removed from the Expo Center at the fairgrounds by 4pm Monday on Oct. 4th, 2021. If not removed, will be removed to secured storage at Buyer's Expense. Bidders are responsible for all winning purchases and shipping and costs. Online Buyers may come and pick up and pay for purchases in person on Sunday Oct. 3rd from 9-5pm at the Expo Center at the Fairgrounds and or by 3PM on Monday October 4th. If can not pay in person for online bidders, Money Wire for all vehicles and purchases over $3000.00 on Monday. Payment is due within 72 hours.
