Alexander & Wissotzky Signed Set 2 Diff Art Prints

This set includes 2 different art prints, all by the artist team of Alexander & Wissotzky. These are still lifes, both flowers and fruit in slightly different arrangements. Both are notable for their decorative style, and creative designs in the margins. Artists: Tanya Wissotzky and Alexander Galtchansky Medium: Serigraph print on untrimmed paper Sheet sizes: 10 x 12 1/2 inches and 15 x 19 1/2 inches Signatures: In black marker at the lower edge corners Edition: Small is 12 and large is 237, both from an edition of 495, numbered in marker, lower center Condition: Excellent Certificate of Authenticity: Included These two different size prints go perfectly together, and they would really bring a lot of style to a room. Biography: Tanya Wissotzky and Alexander Galtchansky (1959) were both born in Crimea of the former Soviet Union. After working together at Kiev Institute of Arts, the two artists developed a unique collaboration. This partnership developed into marriage, and they immigrating to Israel. Their work includes acrylic, pen, ink, and collage on specially treated canvas. Old English books on flower painting are the inspiration for their still lifes. Their style is infused with Romanticism. They have enjoyed success both in Israel and abroad, and have exhibited at Art Expo, New York, BLD New York, Geissing Design Institution in Hamburg, Germany, Galaxy Gallery in Gotenburg, Sweden, and in the now permanent collection at the inyanei Ha'uma in Jerusalem. Their work today can be found in many public and private collections.
Apple Carving Folk Art Sculpture Head Figure S. Shapiro

This unusual original sculpture was carved from an apple. The figure's head, including an apple top with stem for a hat, is all apple, dried and glazed, preserving the nicely carved details. The glaze is quite dark, and matches nicely to the knotty looking piece of wood that serves as a stand. It stands 6 1/2" tall. It is in excellent condition, and is well preserved. Artist Shep Shapiro of Highland Park Illinois created this fruitful masterwork a number of years ago. He could be considered a folk artist, working specifically in apples. The local paper did a feature on him in 1978. This is a fascinating sculpture that is different from anything you are likely to find.

They are the Stars of Screen & Stage, a series of 48 cards. The actresses in this lot are: Heather Thatcher, Ina Claire, Elisabeth Bergner (London Films), Angela Baddeley, Kay Hammond, and Adrianne Allen. All of them are in a plastic holders and are in excellent condition. They measure out to be 1 1/2" x 2 1/2". Some of the cards have wear and slightly rounded corners. 4 Stan Lee Rawhide Kid Comic Books (1967-1969) Marvel

Own these four collector item comic boooks. The comic books are from the Rawhide Kid series. They were published between 1967-1969 from issues numbers: 62, 64, 66, 68. The Rawhide Kid was a heroic gunfighter of the 19th Century American West, who was unjustly wanted as an outlaw. The Rawhide Kid has a freewheeling romp of energetic, almost slapstick action across cattle ranches, horse troughs, corrals, canyons and swinging chandeliers. Stringently moral, the Kid nevertheless showed a gleeful pride in his shooting and his acrobatic fight skills - never picking arguments but constantly forced to surprise lummoxes far bigger than he. He is one of Marvel's most prolific Western characters, rivaled only by the Two-Gun Kid and Kid Colt. It was created by Stan Lee (script) and Bob Brown (artist) All of the books are in fair condition with wear, folds, and rips.
2 Baseball Glove Advertising Posters Gossage HOF

These two baseball mitt advertising posters feature some great players. Each is 18" x 24", and is on a cardboard backing. One is for Mizuno, and it features Goose Gossage in a very funny scene of a golden glove appearing from a giant golden egg. Goose looks mighty surprised! The glove advertised is a Gossage Autograph MT2070. The poster is in good condition, and has some pin holes, light wear and tears, and small worn-through hole above the signature. The other is for Louisville Slugger by H & B, and it features Pedro Guerrero. He is member of the Louisville Slugger Bat and Glove Advisory Staff. The poster is in very good condition, with light wear. These are some great gloves, great players, and hard to find posters for a fan or glove collector!

Large Mr. T Color Photograph Movie TV Celebrity Star

Offered here is a large Mr. T photograph measuring 20X24". Mr. T is sitting and enjoying a sporting venue. The photograph is in good condition with folded corners and worn sides. While reading National Geographic , Mr. T first noticed the unusual hairstyle, for which he is now famous, on a Mandinka warrior. He decided that adoption of the style would be a powerful statement about his African origin. It was a simpler, safer and more permanent visual signature than his gold chains, rings, and bracelets which took about a hour to put on. His famous one-liner came from Rocky III, when he said: No, I don't hate Balboa, but I pity the fool ." In 1984, he made a motivational video called Be Somebody... or Be Somebody's Fool! He gives helpful advice to children throughout the video; for example, he teaches them how to understand and appreciate their origins, how to dress fashionably without buying designer labels, how to make tripping up look like breakdancing, how to control their anger, and how to deal with peer pressure. He also featured in several 1-800-COLLECT commericals as well.

Aretha Franklin Concert Banner Sign Chicago Blues Soul

This tall vinyl banner was made to Welcome Aretha Franklin to town. She came to Chicago for a concert at the United Center. The banner is about 7 feet 10 inches tall, and 2½ feet wide. It is double sided, with a different image on each side. The rolled portion at the top was made for a pole, and the metal grommets are for ropes to keep it tied down from the wind. For display indoors, you could use a long rod, or wires or ropes. It was made for display only, not for sale to the public, and it was only acquired through a special auction hosted by the city. It was originally hanging up somewhere around Chicago, possibly near the United Center. There is some general light wear from use, but overall its condition is very good. The Queen of Soul has a musical presence that's larger than life, so this large banner makes for a perfect display. And it s a rare piece of concert memorabilia.
