Proof ***Auction Highlight*** 1883 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+= Proof Red By USCG (fc)

Lot # 428 (Sale Order: 320 of 693)

***Auction Highlight*** 1883 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+= Proof Red By USCG. Here is a bright and vivid Proof cent with semi-reflective fields supporting satiny dev...moreices. Both sides are light orange color, and the design elements are fully impressed with razor sharp detail throughout, a light cameo is present on the obverse. The surfaces are smooth and attractive. At 6,609 pieces produced, the 1883 has the highest mintage in the Proof Indian cent series. This generous total reflects an increase in minor Proof coin sales that year due to a multitude of nickel five-cent types (Shield; Liberty Head, No CENTS; Liberty Head, With CENTS). According to Rick Snow (2014), the first minor coin Proof sets prepared that year included both the Shield and Liberty Head, No CENTS nickels, along with the Indian cent and nickel three-cent piece. Later sets had three pieces with the Indian cent, nickel three-cent piece and Liberty Head, With CENTS nickel. As one of the finest certified survivors of the year's Proof cent issue, this beautiful 1883 Indian would serve with distinction in an advanced type or date set.

***Auction Highlight*** 1883-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms65 By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 431 (Sale Order: 321 of 693)

***Auction Highlight*** 1883-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms65 By SEGS. Up For Auction is a 1883-s Morgan Dollar ms65 SEGS. A brilliant and highly lustrous near-Gem w...moreith razor sharp striking detail. Although often overshadowed by the 1884-S, the 1883-S is highly elusive in mint state in its own right. While the mintage was 6,250,000 pieces, the 1883-S is one of the few Morgan dollars that saw active circulation beginning in the 19th century. Indeed, worn survivors are available with ease. On the other hand, mint state survivors are scarce in today's market. While many examples emerged from federal holdings in the 1950s and 1960s, these were quickly absorbed by contemporary collectors. No other significant quantities were found apart from a partial bag in the estate of LaVere Redfield. The coins from both the Redfield hoard and the Federal holdings seemed to average about MS-63 in condition. The issue becomes incredibly scarce in Gem, with only about 100 coins known. Nearly in that category, this premium MS-65 represents the finest in both quality and eye appeal available to most collectors seeking an 1883-S Morgan dollar. Tied for 7th finest known. We have included another ms65 for your comparison. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

*HIGHLIGHT OF ENTIRE AUCTION* 1857-c Ty 3 Charlotte TOP POP Gold Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By USCG

Lot # 434 (Sale Order: 324 of 693)

***Auction Highlight*** 1857-c Ty 3 Charlotte TOP POP Gold Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By USCG. HIGHLIGHT OF THE ENTIRE AUCTON - Up for auction is an amazing and w...moreonderfully struck 1857-c Gold Dollar, Tied for finest known, and clearly better struck than those it is tied with, Variety 1. The only known variety. This date was the first Charlotte Mint issue to feature the Type Three design. For unknown reasons the 1857-C gold dollar is much rarer than its 13,280-piece mintage would suggest. Mint State coins are extremely rare, with fewer than 10 specimens known, none of which are better than MS62.The 1857-C has the dubious distinction of being one of the worst struck in the series. The present MS62 coin, while not fully struck, transcends that profile. Liberty's hair and plumes display better detail than usually seen, as do the bow knot, all of the date digits, and all letters in DOLLAR are fully struck. Virtually none of the usual planchet roughness is visible on the gold-orange surfaces, that usually plague this poorly produced issue. This particular offering is among the finest 1857-C gold dollars that is likely to be encountered. I have included the two other 1857-c Examples that are graded ms62. I think you will find ours finer.
