A Rare Pair of Spurs Marked Both KandC and Kelly Bros.

Lot # 95 (Sale Order: 81 of 336)

This is a very unique and highly collectible pair of spurs with one marked K&C and the other, Kelly Bros. For years there has been much speculation about K&C spurs and who made them and when. This pair help to clear up some of the mystery suggesting they were made by the Kelly Brothers sometime between 1919 and 1939. These spurs are definitely a pair and not two similar singles, likely they got mixed up when on the work bench or perhaps the guy making them accidentally picked up the wrong stamp when hallmarking one of them. Who knows, but either way, it proves that Kelly Bros. and K&C were made in the same shop. This helps back up the theory that K&C actually stood for Kelly and Company.
This is a real nice old pair of single mounted spurs and the historical provenance they provide helps solve some of the mystery surrounding the K&C mark. They also come with nice leather spur straps with US conchos.
MAKER: One spur is marked K&C and the other is marked Kelly Bros.
APPROX. AGE: 1919 to 1939.
SIZE: Heel opening is 3". Heel bands are 1" wide. Shanks are 3-7/8" long including the rowels.
CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.

A Rare Example of a Native American Navajo Ladies Saddle - Late 1800s.

Lot # 104 (Sale Order: 90 of 336)

A unique and rare example of a Native American (Navajo) ladies saddle from the late 1800s. How do we know it is a ladies saddle? Because of the saddle horn. Items such as a cradle board were hung on the saddle horn. Navajo men's saddles from this time period usually did not have a saddle horn as it would have been in the way when hunting or fighting. This saddle is handmade and retains most of its original form and decorations. The original hand-bent cedar wood stirrups are even there. The vintage Navajo saddle blanket pictured is included with the saddle. The saddle custom made stand can be included, but only if the buyer makes arrangements to pick it up, we will not ship the saddle stand.
MAKER: Unknown.
APPROX AGE: Circa Late 1800s.
