***Auction Highlight*** 1926-d TOP POP! Peace Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 759 (Sale Order: 301 of 395)

***Auction Highlight*** 1926-d TOP POP! Peace Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS. TIED FOR FINEST KNOWN WITH JUST 1 COIN! Enchanting Superb quality surfaces are fully stru...moreck with serene satin to softly frosted surfaces. Minimally toned in pale silver and gold iridescence, this exquisite coin would do justice to the finest Peace dollar set. With 2,348,700 examples struck, the 1926-D occupies an interesting space in this series. It is an underappreciated issue, being somewhat common in circulated and lower Uncirculated condition but remaining considerably scarce in higher grades. Very few bags were released to the public in the mid-20th century, and what coins did get released were quickly absorbed by the numismatic community. Examples are still available in roll quantity, but these are mainly in grades of MS-62 to MS-63. Superb Gem examples like that offered here are notable condition rarities that always draw strong bids on the few occasions when they are offered in major numismatic auctions. An impressive coin. Tied for Finest Known A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1869/69 FS-301 S-3 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Unc RD By USCG (fc)

Lot # 760 (Sale Order: 302 of 395)

***Auction Highlight*** 1869/69 FS-301 S-3 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Unc RD By USCG2nd Finest Known. Glorious deep orange surfaces are fully lustrous with a billowy sat...morein to softly frosted texture from the dies. Sharply struck, carefully preserved, and a find for the advanced Indian cent enthusiast. One of the more challenging early date bronze Indian cents to locate in high grades, the 1869 is more elusive than the 1866, 1867 and 1868. This is an exceptional survivor from a mintage of 6,420,000 circulation strikes. Once believed to be an 1869/8 overdate, the variety now cataloged as Snow-3 is one of the most pronounced repunched dates in the Indian cent series. The obverse proved to be a workhorse die paired with at least eight different reverses. Although Snow-3 as a whole is obtainable with patience in most grades, Gems such as this are elusive, especially with considerable mint red luster remaining. The Snow-3, FS-301 . A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Proof ***Auction Highlight*** 1860 Seated Liberty Dollar $1 Graded pr65+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 762 (Sale Order: 304 of 395)

***Auction Highlight*** 1860 Seated Liberty Dollar $1 Graded pr65+ By SEGS. Although the Guide Book publishes to this day a figure of 1,330 pieces for the 1860 proof Se...moreated dollar, Walter Breen maintains in his Proof Encyclopedia that all but 527 were melted. Despite the exact figure this Gem+ proof is nonetheless in the upper echelon of survivors of the issue. The surfaces are highly reflective despite a moderate layer of stunning sky-blue and pinkish patina, The strike is precise, save for a couple of stars at the top obverse rim, and the eye appeal is excellent. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

They came to be nicknamed greenbacks for the color of the back. These notes were printed on paper that was very fragile so it's common to find them in horribly compromised condition. Finding a Nicer One Like this is a rarity. Head of Salmon P. Chase, Secretary of the Treasury under Abraham Lincoln,1861-1864, and Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court 1864-1873. 1922 Large Size $10 Gold Certificate Fr-1173 Speelman/White Grades vf+

Lot # 784 (Sale Order: 321 of 395)

1922 Large Size $10 Gold Certificate Fr-1173 Speelman/White Grades vf+. It is hard to believe that large size ten dollar gold certificates were only issued in 190...more7 and 1922. The United States first printed gold certificates in the early 1860s. For some reason they never printed the ten dollar denomination until 1907. 1922 was the last year of the large size gold Certificate Currnecy. In 1928 paper money was changed to the size we are accustomed to seeing today. The portrait of Alexander Hamilton was used instead of the virtually unknown Michael Hillegas. Hillegas was the first treasurer of The United States. Perhaps if Hillegas had died in a duel then he would be better remembered today. All 1922 $10 gold certificates were signed by Speelman and White. Interestingly enough, there is a small variety for the series. Some notes have smaller serial numbers than the standard numbers. The small serial number notes do command a slight premium, especially in higher grades.
