***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Silver City 1938 Walker & 19

Lot # 691 (Sale Order: 562 of 720)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Silver City 1938 Walker & 1962 Franklin Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secure...mored a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

***Auction Highlight*** 1937 Antietam Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms66 By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 692 (Sale Order: 563 of 720)

***Auction Highlight*** 1937 Antietam Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms66 By SEGS. A commemorative half dollar was issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Ba...morettle of Antietam, during which General McClellan thwarted General Lee’s invasion of Maryland. This followed a separate coin recently issued for the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The obverse of the Battle of Antietam Half Dollar features the profile portraits of General George B. McClellan and General Robert E. Lee. On the reverse of the coin is an image of the Burnside Bridge, which was an important tactical objective of the battle. The designs for the coin were created by William Marks Simpson, who had also designed the recent commemorative issues for the Norfolk and Roanoke Island. All of these coins include an unusually large number of inscriptions.A maximum of 50,000 pieces were authorized to be produced. The entire number was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and send to the Washington County Historical Society, which offered the 1937 Antietam Half Dollars for $1.65 each. The general market for commemorative coins had declined by this time and sales were slow. Eventually 32,000 pieces were returned to the mint for melting. Of the three Civil War themed early commemoratives (Stone Mountain, Gettysburg, and Antietam), the final issue had the lowest mintage.

***Auction Highlight*** 1891-cc Near Top POP! Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms62+ By SEGS (fc

Lot # 695 (Sale Order: 566 of 720)

***Auction Highlight*** 1891-cc Near Top POP! Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms62+ By SEGS. With just 5,000 pieces struck, the 1891-CC is a bonafide rarity a...moremong Carson City twenties and the long-running Liberty Head double eagles alike. Mint State examples are rare even within the low Uncirculated levels. The finest 1891-CC tops out at MS63. The issue is only slightly more available at MS61, with just a dozen pieces known and five finer pieces. This is a virtually unabraded, sharply struck MS62+, 2nd finest known example, with frosted, yet slightly muted mint luster and light-orange coloration. Liberty's hair strands are individually defined, and the star centers are all sharp. The virtually unabraded surfaces are more in line with an ms63-ms64 level, and I can only surmise the slightly muted mint luster is the reason for the coin not attaining a higher grade. Only the famous 1870-CC double eagle has a lower mintage (3,789 pieces struck) than the 1891-CC in the entire Carson City twenty dollar series. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1860-p Gold Liberty Eagle $10 Graded BU+ By USCG (fc)

Lot # 700 (Sale Order: 571 of 720)

***Auction Highlight*** 1860-p Gold Liberty Eagle $10 Graded BU+ By USCG. The 1860 is a moderately scarce date in higher circulated grades but it is rare and defin...moreitely overlooked in Uncirculated. It is likely that fewer than 10 pieces are accounted for in mint condition. Of those 10, only 1 grades ms64 and none others above ms62. The lone ms64 sett a record for the issue when it brought a strong $70,550 in the Stacks Bowers Americana Auction (2/2013), lot 2178. The last Uncirculated example, another ms61, sold in February of 2020 and realized $11,40. This impressive Mint State specimen exhibits nicely detailed design elements, aside from a touch of the usual softness on some of the stars. The yellow-orange surfaces retain much of their original mint luster and are appropriately marked for the grade. A true rarity, Tied for 3rd finest known. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK - Up for Auction is one of the finest known ...more1800 Draped bust dollars and the finest known in the variety. This is a sharp Select Mint State example, boldly struck and well-centered. Attractive deep-gray toning cedes to medium silver-gray interiors, with plentiful mint luster surrounding the raised elements. Only a few tiny marks dot the smooth, unabraded surfaces on either side. This coin sits at the top of the Condition Census for the BB-184 variety. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin.
