1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Grades vf++

Lot # 4203 (Sale Order: 1431 of 1910)

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Grades vf++. The $1 Hawaii Note Came in 7 Blocks the SC Block Which is the most common, The LC, PC , CC,...more and YB Blocks are All equialy as rare but are much less common then the SC Block. Then there are the ZB and AC (This Note) Blocks which are Very Rare. Out of about 35 Million Total $1 Hawaii Notes Printed Less then 3% of them were this Key A-C Block. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Stardust 1944 Walker & D fra

Lot # 4206 (Sale Order: 1434 of 1910)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Stardust 1944 Walker & D franklin Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a co...morellection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1953A $5 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++

Lot # 4207 (Sale Order: 1435 of 1910)

1953A $5 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++. The year 1953 was the last year that the US printed the five dollar silver certificates. These bills were printe...mored in three different years, so there were three different series: 1953, 1953A, and 1953B,. The 1953 $5 silver certificate looks very similar to the earlier 1934 issues except that the “5” on the left hand side of the note is in blue, and the seal on the right hand side is smaller. Once redeemable for silver coin or bullion, these notes and the redemption option were discontinued by Act of Congress in 1963. Silver Certificates, with their distinctive blue Treasury seals and serial numbers, are among the most sought-after U.S. currency notes. This Series 1953A $5 Silver Certificate bears Priest-Anderson signatures.
