Barrel shows very thin pitting and toning. Rod is a replacement. Action functions well.

Not fitted for ramrod. Checkered walnut grip. Triggerguard finial details place this Deringer pistol’s date of manufacture between 1848-50. Sideplate marked ‘Deringer Philadelphia’ with the letter ‘P’ placed between the silver bands on the left side barrel flat. Barrel shows the beautiful copper streaking that separates the Deringer pistols from their closest competitors.

Grips show moderate thinning to checks with small losses and light just beginning cracks emanating from the escutcheons to the edges of grip. Cast hammer shows fissure at based of spur and, although action is in good functioning order, we strongly advise against manipulating the hammer.

Trap in butt and is fitted for ramrod. Rammer is bone ivory tipped ebony with six finger groves at other end. Checkered walnut grip. Sideplate marked ‘Deringer Philadelphia’ with the letter ‘P’ placed between the gold bands in a starburst motif on the left side barrel flat.
