German silver blade front sight, dovetail cuts in the barrel and frame for a rear sight, with two line patent marking and "59" on either side of the barrel dovetail. The "59" is repeated on several parts including the stock. Iron frame, with brass elevator, Roman numeral "II" on the lower tang, and "R.F. ENEWOLD" stamped on the left side beneath the wood. Smooth straight grip stock with storage compartment in the butt.

Rare Winchester Model 1873 '22 Short' Lever Action Rifle

This is a very rare variation of the M1873 rifle, manufactured between 1902 and 1903 with 2-line Kings Improved barrel markings, brass lifter correctly marked '22 Cal Short". The rifle is complete with some light pin-prick pitting on top of the barrel and right side of the receiver. Probably from sitting in a scabbard. Wood has had an old extra coat of varnish but is unsanded.
