A vintage 5"x 8" Apollo 15 Flight Crew G&N Dictionary manual dated July 12, 1971 and used in mission training for the astronauts. There are some pages containing light astronaut annotations. It contains about 50 two-sided thick paper stock pages (100+ pages total) of Apollo 15 G&N information (Guidance and Navigation). There are many AGC program code sections including Stars, Nouns and Verbs, and other sections such as Alarm Codes, Pre-Thrust, Contingency Alignments, etc. The tabs are well worn from astronaut training use in the Lunar Module Simulator. Apollo 16 Lunar Module Timeline Book

Lot # 314 (Sale Order: 314 of 426)      

An 8½"x 10½" Apollo 16 LM Timeline Book with the last completion update on June 9, 1972, but most the checklist dating late 1971 to early 1972. It consists of 23 heavy two-sided pages (46 total pages) of timelines, procedures, rendezvous plots, switch positions, etc. Additionally, in the front are about 15 copied pages of checklists containing many pencil annotations. The Timeline Books were the books most heavily used during training by all the Apollo Lunar Module Pilots. This one was no doubt of the type used by Charlie Duke in the Simulator, and in fact, this is the LMS-1 copy (Lunar Module Simulator). Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist

A vintage 3-ringed 6"x 8" Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist dated March 15, 1972. It contains about 25 tabbed sections of at least 65-70 heavy paper stock two-sided pages (130-140 total pages) of LM contingency checklists and procedures. These 25 tabbed sections are contained themselves in 7 larger sections called 30-Minute Activation, Modular Activation, Docked Deactivation, Charts, Special Procedures, Contingency EVT/IVT and Real-Time Checklists. Annotated on several pages, probably by Young and/or Duke. Some of the tabbed sections are Docked DPS Burn, Docked APS Burn, Power Down List, Attitude Control Matrix, CSM Transfer to LM Power and many more. This checklist was used by the Apollo 16 crew during training for the mission, and was the designated copy to be used in the LMS. This checklist details, in set procedures, what to do in all cases of an emergency in the Lunar Module. Manuals such as this are quite rare and are the exact types flown with the astronauts on the missions. The checklist tabs are heavily used, but the majority of the pages are still in great shape. It consists of 13 tabbed sections including EVA 1 Prep, EVA 1 Post, EVA 2 (Prep and Post), EVA 3 (Prep and Post), Launch Prep, One Man EVA Prep, Emergency Liftoff, Manual Ascent, etc. Complete procedures, switch positions and checklists for each activity. Heavily used in training by Apollo 16 astronauts with quite a few annotations inside, especially near the back. The tabs are worn from use, but the pages are still nice condition. Charlie Duke's Spacesuit Equipment Bag, Training

Lot # 324 (Sale Order: 324 of 426)      

Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke's personal spacesuit strap-on bag, used for storage of equipment and supplies, used heavily in training for his Apollo 16 lunar EVA. The bag was strapped on to the leg of his EVA suit during training and over time the strap connections holding smaller secondary bag to the larger one became separated. The bag measures approximately 7" wide x 10" high by 2-1/2" deep. Complete with the manufacturer's tag still attached. Soiled from heavy use. Quite rare and a great piece of lunar history.
