Standard relief-carved walnut stock, the left side with finely incised name COLE. Bottom of stock carved: 148. Brass furniture. Bottom of triggerguard marked: R/3/B. Wooden ramrod with metal cap.
Condition: Very good as configured. Steel with mottled grey-brown age patina with scattered pitting overall. Wood with wear and minor dents and blemishes.

.60 caliber, 10 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed silver front sight. Vacant oval gold escutcheon and silver band at breech. Engraved tang. Steel under-rib. Ornately designed lock with dentate borders and marked: Mc Dermott. Sleeved touch hole. Checkered walnut stock with engraved steel furniture, the wrist with silver oval escutcheon engraved with a coat-of-arms and JHL monogram in script. Silver fore-end cap, silver oval wedge escutcheons. Spurred triggerguard. Tapered rosewood ramrod with wormer and horn cap.
Condition: Very good. Steel with mellow dark brown age patina with scattered patches of light pitting present. Wood very good with minor wear and marks. Small hairline crack adjacent counterplate.

.60 caliber, 7-inch tapered barss barrel with British proofs. Marked: D. Egg, London. Lock marked: D. Egg/[crown]/GR. Walnut stock with brass furniture. Broad arrow cartouche. Wooden ramrod. One of a pair with only 400 pairs made. Issued to Prince Boullon, Royal Navy 1796.
Condition: Very good. Metal with light age patina. Front sight marred. Wood very good with minor wear and scattered dents and bruises.
Notes: Egg, Durs, London [1750-1834] Durs Egg, a celebrated London gunsmith, had the Royal Warrant of the Prince Regent, later George IV, He had a number of Royal government contracts for flintlock muskets, rifles and carbines. His shop for civilian arms was at 1 Pall Mall, London.

Ornate German Flintlock Pistol, Munster, German States Westfalen (Circa 1750)

.58 caliber, 11-inch damascus barrel with gold and silver- inlaid facets at breech. Top-flat with gold-inlaid Turkish writing with a diamond mounted in an oval. Tang marked: Munster/ 5. Unmarked banana-shaped lock. Brass lockplate with hunting dogs and scrollborder. Adjustable trigger. Beautiful relief-carved walnut stock with ornate scroll around tang, molded borders, the bottom with finely carved floral spray and sculpted ramrod trough. Wooden ramrod with horn cap. Ornate brass furniture, the triggerguard and pommel with grotesque faces and decorative filigree.
Condition: Very good to fine. Metal showing smooth grey patina overall. Stock very good with tiny chips on right side of fore-end and minor marks overall.
Notes: It is possible that this handsome flintlock was decorated for the Turkish market or re-barreled later by a Turkish owner.

.50 caliber, 9 7/8-inch fire-blued octagonal barrel with silver-inlaid linework and name Joseph Kuchenreuter. Recessed touchmark of horse and rider with letter "K" at breech. Three-position folding-leaf rear sight. Rear tang with numeral 2 [probably number 2 of a pair]. Beautiful unmarked polished steel lock mechanism. Adjustable trigger. Relief-carved walnut stock with horn fore-end cap, blackened steel furniture and vacant shield-shaped wrist escutcheon. Wooden ramrod with horn cap.
Condition: Very good. Barrel retaining 20-25% fire-blued finish, primarily in protected areas with remaining surfaces showing dark age patina and wear. Wood very good with light wear and marks.

Condition: Very good. Both with metal showing light age patina and no evidence of pitting present. Nipple broken on gun 1. Ramrod tip replaced on gun 2. Wood on both guns very good with light wear overall. A handsome and unique pair of duellers.

.52 caliber, 10 1/2-inch octagonal damascus barrels with dovetailed sights. Scroll-engraved tang, unmarked percussion locks and steel furniture. Relief-carved, fluted walnut stocks with spurred triggerguards. Gold-inlaid wrist escutcheons numbered 1 & 2. Contained in a partitioned green felt-lined walnut case together with bullet mold, powder flask, screwdriver, nipple wrench, powder measure, tin, cap box, balls and ramrods.
Condition: Fair to good. Steel showing light coat of surface rust from poor storage, could clean easily to better, #1 gun with fine crack in fore-end. Case with severe cracks to lid, needing repair, the lining with wear and light soiling. Accoutrements with light rust and patina.
