The metal surfaces show some light to slightly heavypitting and erosion. The heaviest areas of pitting on the right edge of barrel. Stocks are very good plus and show good edges, some small losses, and appear to have never been cartouched. The hammer shows light engraving and it is possible that this was an overrun and sold on a commercial basis. There is a significant crack in the forend from the front edge of the lock extending up to the barrel. Good to very good overall. Est: $600 - $1,200

The revolver remains in orig...moreinal good to very good condition with 10-20% original blue on barrel and cylinder drifting to patina with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. The etching on barrel is fully visible but very light. The cylinder shows good traces of blue in the flutes and backstrap and triggerguard show 40-50%thinning blue. Grips are very good and an excellent fit with just some edge wear. The markings are sharp, action working. Front sight is its full height. Scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. Bore is bright. Interesting and unusual flintlock tinder-lighter circa 1790-1820, probably English origin, brass body, wood bag-shaped grip. No maker’s name. Measures 7” overall. The ...morefront of the pistol-shaped tinder-lighter is hinged to containtinder with a large central portion for ignition of tinder. The frame is lightly engraved, the grip shows a few dings and mars. Generally tinder-lighters do not resemble pistols this closely. From the Keith Coulter collection. Est:$750 - $1,500

Flintlock horseman’s pistol converted to percussion. Lock signed Hess a Zweybruken. The pistol measures 17-1/2” overall with 11-3/4” barrel of approx. .60 caliber smoo...moreth bore, full stocked to the muzzle, showing key plate inlaidinto butt for shoulder stock. The metal surfaces are good to very good with traces of original blue and case hardened finish, scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. There is a loss of wood along one edge of the forend which extends approx.1-1/2” by 2mm width. The horn forend cap is missing, the stock is nicely carved and otherwise very good. An original to the period horn tipped ramrod is included. Est: $900 - $1,800
