“Untitled” Mixed media on paper, 12” x 11” by Ania Gola-Kumor

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 97)

Ania’s artist statement says that creating is a very personal and complicated process for her, related to her heart, brain, intuition, experiences and memory. It reflects her state of mind. She is painting out of the need to give form to her emotions, express issues that she is exploring and verify something that she never quite realizes until she is satisfied with the results of her work. Ania’s painting process is about balance between spontaneity and control, intended and serendipitous. In creating a good picture honesty is very important to feel vulnerable and bold at the same time. Ania is widely shown and publicized in Denver art scene and internationally. She is represented by Sandra Philips Gallery and has been a professor at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design for last 14 years. Go to http://rmcad.digication.com/ania/Welcome/published...more

Having recently moved to the US from Sussex in England, Melinda is currently studying at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and design, for her BFA. Her educational career, which encouraged the development of the individual, has had a profound influence on the work I am currently producing. As a result I am extremely interested in the idea of identity and the significance of relationships between individuals. On a larger scale, the experience of moving, and the distance created between the countries and cultures I am used to, has lead me to explore these relationships in connection to society. I seek to define the various perspectives and emotions that we come into contact with as a result of our different lifestyles, as well as the cultures, in which we chose to live. “Overpass 12, 2004” Oil, charcoal and colored pencil on paper, 30"W x 22"H) by Kevin Oehler

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 18 of 97)

My approach to art making has been nothing if not wildly eclectic. Educated in the U.S. and the U.K., I have been been affiliated with Robischon Gallery in Denver, Desson Saunders Gallery in Chicago, and Morely Gallery in London. I've created large public art installations, including "Jade Spire" and "Union Spire" in Denver, "Flood of '65" in Littleton, CO, and "Evansville Gateway" along the Ohio River. In the 90's I was a Production Designer in Los Angeles designing film sets for stage and location. More recently, I've been designing natural and cultural history experiences and exhibits for museums across the U.S. "Overpass 12" was selected from a series of 50 or so drawings made in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2004. Based on photographs of freeway overpasses taken at sunrise, these drawings imagine remnant, crumbling highway architecture as icons of man-made landscape, persisting into a dystopic future, and outlasting the culture that created them....more

“7 8.8.11" Acrylic on Canvas with Sharpie Marker, 30” x 15” by Reid Palmer

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 22 of 97)

Reid’s paintings tend to deal with more abstract ideas and emotions that are harder to describe and pinpoint. Although they are of "nothing" they are representations of the ideas and emotions that go into creating them. He injects thoughts and feelings into them during the creative process, most of which is painted over, and those ideas simply become part of the final piece. Usually while Reid is working on one of these abstract pieces he works on a cartoonish piece as well,. His aim for his painting is to create works that are aesthetically pleasing while perhaps raising some thought within the viewer based on the title of the piece, which tends to be the premise or idea from which the piece originated. “Slider M-141” Stainless Steel, 21’h x 7”w x 7”d by Kevin Robb

Lot # 23 (Sale Order: 23 of 97)

Over the past three decades, this renowned Colorado metal sculptor has made his mark on the national and international art scene. With a unique style and consummate welding quality that have defined and differentiated his work, Kevin’s sculptures are not created according to a set plan. The placement of each element is an answer to a question of relationships, which he discovers as the work is in progress. His sculptures range from monumental, to garden size, and table top sized. Today, Kevin continues to create his magnificent works even after suffering a massive stroke in 2004. Although he has been challenged physically, his ideas remain free flowing and his commitment to quality is as high as ever – with a resolve that offers a physical testament to the dedication, expertise, and amazing recovery of this remarkable artist. His works can be seen at CODA Gallery, Palm Desert, CA; Janine’s Contemporary, Santa Fe, NM; Dean Day Gallery, Houston, TX; Kodner Gallery, St. Louis, MO. Go to www.kevinrobb.com...more
