Set of Six (6) Bone-Handled Carbon Steel-Bladed Cutlery Set, by John Primble, marked ''India Primble Steel Works, Goods of Honour Trademark'', ca. late 19th to early 20th Century. The Primble India Steel Works were in operated between 1890 and 1940. This company was an offset of Belknap Hardware of Louisville, KY. John Primble's name was rumored to have been taken from one of Belknap's best performing salesmen. Known for their workmanship, fit and finish, and close tolerances, their pocket knives and classically patterned tableware have provided a good variety for collectors. This set is based on similar styles from the 1860s, and in the late 19th to early 20th Century was considered a classic pattern. Condition is excellent with just light carbon spotting, in soft cotton storage wrap. Est.: $300-$500/set....more

Silver Victorian Boatswain's Call or Whistle, ca. 1860-1900, approx. 4'' in length, with barrel-shaped buoy and crown over anchor at each end. Keel is lightly engraved with floral motif and line and punchdot border. This two-note type whistle was used for signaling and piping aboard personnel.
