28" M/F. 14 5/8 LOP to a recoil pad. Transition gun. Marked an A. H. Fox gun made for Savage Arms Corp. SN: 367017. WT: 6.4. Perfect bores, tight lockup, some case color remaining. Wood has been lightly varnished.
L.C. Smith Grade 2, Special order gun.
Most unusual Grade 2. Barrels are massive. Without the forend, they weigh 5.3. 30" F/F with ivory bead. Crown steel barrels. DT ,ext .Orig. varnish. Full length stock measuring 14" LOP to orig. butt plate. WT: 9.2.
SN: 336813. Wood is solid, extremely tight action and perfect bores. Blueing original, thinning in some areas. I believe this gun was special ordered with heavy barrels, or started it's life as a 10ga. then the work order must have been changed at the factory from a 10ga to a 12ga.
