The Chet Helms Memorial poster was created by Alton Kelley (1940-2008) for Chet’s memorial concert service that was held at the Maritime Hall in San Francisco, California. April 30, 1994 and displayed at the Grateful Dead office in San Rafael. Chet was the founder of the Family Dog production company who hosted concerts at the Avalon Ballroom, and members of Credence Clearwater Revival, Big Brother, Gregg Allman, Peter Tork of the Monkeys, the Doobie Brothers, New Riders, Lee Michaels, Country Joe, Dan Hicks, Wavy Gravy, Peter Coyote and many more showed up to honor him. A beautiful Stanley Mouse 1981 concert tour poster for the Grateful Dead's Fall 1981 European Tour that ran from 9/30-10/19 and lists stops in Edinburgh, London, Copenhagen, Bremen, Munich, Russelheim, Paris and Barcelona (and according to historian Brad Kelly, not listed is the Amsterdam show). This piece is in excellent condition and came directly from the old Grateful Dead office in San Rafael, CA. as a gift to office employees. Please note: Stanley has requested that we inform everyone that his original ‘Europe 81’ watercolor painting (30” X 22”) was stolen in 2000 in a well-documented NYC theft.
