Fine Art Lithograph - Re Society - S2 Editions Atelier
Low Estimate: 1,800High Estimate: 3,000Condition: Excellent
Size Approx. 58 x 40 in. /// This Fine Art Lithograph was produced at S2 Editions Atelier, New York City, in 1997 under the auspices of the Re Society, LTD. It was inspired by the original lithographic posters created in the early 19th century. Pulled on Coventry Paper, One Color at a time from separate plates. The image has been sequentially numbered in pencil in the lower left border, by a curator at S2 Editions. The expert chromists re-created the artist’s image by hand-drawing directly onto the specially prepared surfaces that were transferred onto lithographic plates, one plate for each color. The resulting lithograph is in pure color, without the dot structure, which occurs in the photographic process of modern printing. The lithographs were printed on a rare German-Made Dufa Press under the supervision of the atelier's Technical Director and Senior Pressman. The Paper size of the lithograph is the same size as the Original Vintage Poster. This lithograph bears the trademarks of the RE Society, plus the imprimatur emblem of the S2 Editions Atelier. The signature of the chromists is printed unobtrusively on this lithograph in order to distinguish it from the Golden Age Poster. It is a testament to the artist's compelling vision and painstaking artistry of the contemporary artisans and chromists of S2 Editions.
