Palace Theatre Show Poster San Francisco 1970

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 327)

Offered is another seldom found poster. It is for the Midnight Films held at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco (located at Columbus and Powell). These shows started as some of the promoter's favorite little known, cult, and bizarre films. The showings eventually became just as famous for the audiences they attracted as for the unusual films that drew them. Unique to these events were the wild and bejeweled nature of the generally unruly audiences. The artwork was by Bay Area artist Steven Arnold, who created graphic art for local San Francisco performance venues and boutiques. This poster is from October 1970 and is 22" x 17" on thin paper stock. This is original and has condition issues such as tears, stains, edge damage, and paper loss
