Item Description: Translate description
(A): Rifled octagon barrel stamped "H. DERINGER/PHILADA" on top flat. Unmarked percussion lock. Plain walnut halfstock with shaped pewter nosecap. Brass furniture. CONDITION: Barrel and lock retain a heavy brown patina with light pitting throughout. Lock strong and functions well, nipple modern. Stock shows scattered dents and marks from use, no ramrod. (B): Signed octagon barrel with holes drilled towards muzzle on top three flats. Unmarked percussion lock. Brass furniture, no ramrod. Maple stock of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania form. CONDITION: Barrel tang and bolster absent. Barrel tied on with string. Stock shows many areas of losses to finish. No ramrod. (C): Two-stage barrel with brass bead at muzzle. Back-action percussion lock. Brass triggerguard, iron buttplate, pewter endcap. Walnut stock. CONDITION: Barrel retains a freckled brown surface. Lock grey and functional. Stock shows a few scattered marks. One ramrod thimble detached, the other is missing. (D): Fitted with a sighted half octagon smoothbore barrel signed on the top flat in script "A. Schweitzer" for Abraham Schweitzer, who worked in Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 1794 to 1795, and then in Chambersburg from 1795 to his death in 1831. Percussion converted lock marked "RIDDLE". Shortened walnut half stock with engraved brass mounts. Complete with period hickory rod. CONDITION: NRA Fair.
