THIS IS A 9 1/2 INCH WIDE "TRAMP ART" SEWING BOX WITH A FANCY DESIGN AND A PIN CUSHION ON THE TOP. THE BOX HAS SOME MISSING PIECES (CHECK ALL PHOTO'S), BUT STILL SHOWS WELL. THE AMOUNT OF WORK IN THE CHIP CARVING AND UNIQUE DESIGNS THAT WERE USED IN THESE BOXES SHOWS REAL ARTISTIC TALENT. HOMELESS TRAVELERS WOULD FOLLOW THE RAILROAD ROUTES FOR RIDES & CONTACT WITH PEOPLE THAT WOULD BUY THIER WARES. NEAT HISTORIC ITEM
