Overview of Adena Blade
Item Details
Late Archaic to Late Woodland (3,000-1,200 B.P.). Material: Mottled, gray & white, Burlington Chert. Origin: Reportedly; The Illinois region. Length: 3-15/16". Width: 1-1/4". Grade: 7. This is a medium to large size point that has been turned into a hafted knife. It has convex blade edges with strongly tapered to non-existent shoulders. The stem is slightly contracting with straight basal edge. Good sorbed deposits, authigenic accumulations, heavy use wear & a nice naturally aged patina are observed. The very bottom of the stem has had some ancient damage & rework due to hafting pressure. Authentication by Butler.
Payment
All winning bidders, who do not opt for local pickup, will be invoiced and automatically billed, to the credit card on file, by noon on the day following the close of the auction. This invoice will reflect the purchase total, buyer’s premium, and a 5.5% sales tax for Wisconsin residents. Buyers who are unable to do local pickup will have their items automatically shipped on the day following the close of the auction. Shipping charges will show up as a secondary charge to the credit card on file. The 3% cash discount applies only to bidders who pick up locally and pay by cash or check.
