Authentic Colt Whitneyville Walker revolver number “B Co. 132”. This Walker remains in fair condition with moderate to heavy pitting overall and a dark uncleaned brown patina. The trigger guard shows a full and clear marking. The frame marking is mostly visible tops and edges of stamp light or not present. The barrel marking shows a few letters and partial number. The address on the top of the barrel is not quite half visible. The butt shows a few letters of marking. The rammer is authentic but the spring has been replaced. The wedge is matching. The nipples are original but no number visible on back of cylinder. Arbor shows #32. The hammer and backstrap are correct. There is a small “P” proof on bow of trigger guard. The grips are excellent old hand made replacements that show opening to the grain and honest wear from being used on this gun. The forcing cone has been faced or slightly reduced and the bore is rough but rifling is visible. The U.S. marking is partially visible. The action work well and only 1 or 2 screws replaced. An absolutely authentic and minimally repaired or restored Colt Walker of which approximately 190 authentic specimens are confirmed by this cataloger and other experts. B company was a Texas Ranger company and this revolver was sure to have seen many engagements on Texas and South Western frontier where it was constantly exposed to the weather and the elements which it shows hard ware and use but kept in shooting condition. There is a number in between pins on the frame but not readable. In conclusion we like this Walker as it is not “skinned or over cleaned and over restored”. Suitable for a major museum or collection based on its rarity alone. Provenance: A major N.W. collection last 50 years. (Antique) Est.: $25,000-$50,000
