Item Details

* Cased Moore's Patent Firearm Co., Test-Fire Pocket Revolver, .32 cal TEAT-Fire, s/n 10048, revolver, brl length 3.25" , good plus condition, single action. Cased complete set to include revolver and six front loading .32 cal TEAT-Fire rounds of ammunition. Four of the TEAT-Fire rounds are the traditional encountered flat TEAT and two are of the very scare round TEAT form. The revolver has a brass frame with a spur trigger and birds head grip. The grip panels are slightly undersized with a shellac finish. The brass frame has scrollwork engraving on both side flats with a pin punch background. There is sunburst engraving on the blast shields and underside of grip frame along with engraving on each side of the spur trigger and underside of the bottom strap. The trigger spur and hammer spur are both checkered. The cylinder is marked "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5. 1864" around the rear with a double line border and a single line at front edge which also shows a small loss at the edge of one chamber. The top of the barrel is marked in a single line "MOORES PAT. FIREARMS CO. BROOKLYN NY." with sunburst engraving at rear along with engraving around muzzle and either side of barrel lug. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the serial number. The bore shines with nice rifling and only a very few small light surface pitting marks. The front of the barrel is fitted with a fixed blade with the hammer having a corresponding notch. The barrel and cylinder show areas of tool marks scattered throughout with the brass frame showing traces of original silver wash and very little handling marks present.

Firearms Grading Guide Gun grading is a subjective process, this guide is developed using a combination of NRA, Blue Book and The Standard Catalog, The “Percentage” System and current standard industry practice. Everyone has their own opinion, this guide will hopefully help us to communicate conditions to you clearly. NEW – Unused, same condition as Factory. 100% USED But in Like New Condition – May have been slightly used, but shows no wear, perfect condition. Modern guns = 99-100% EXCELLENT – May show slight use, no easily noticeable mars or defects, minimal bluing wear, mainly slight at edges and muzzle, few to no scratches. Modern Guns = 90-99%; Old Guns = 80-99% VERY GOOD PLUS – Shows slight wear, only minor defects or dings and scratches. Nice looking bluing but worn at edges and muzzle. Modern Guns = 85-90%; Old Guns 70-80% VERY GOOD – Some wear on finish and operating surfaces, no corrosion, maybe some light freckling. Could have minor dents and scratches. Modern Guns = 70-85%; Old Guns = 60-70%. GOOD – Finish may be worn from use or carry, wearing on operating surfaces. Could have some pitting and light corrosion/freckling. Dings & scratches, but they should not interfere with function. Modern Guns = 50-70%, Old Guns = 30-60%. FAIR – Well worn finish or possibly none left at all. May have corrosion and pitting. Modern Guns = 20-50%, Old Guns = 1-30% POOR – Worn out or rusty, sold mainly for parts or repair.
