SPECS: Smooth walnut stock, curved metal buttplate, 24" octagon/round heavy target barrel, Marble's dovetailed adjustable elevator rear sight, dovetailed German silver blade front sight, checkered hammer and lever operated falling-block action. CONDITION: This rifle is in good condition with age & wear, has a fair bore with pitting and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Stevens Ideal Rifle No. 44 was a popular rimfire rifle that was introduced in 1894, and some say continued until 1933, although some sources suggest it lasted until 1947. It was known for its accuracy and was favored by target shooters. The No. 44 was produced in a range of rimfire and centerfire calibers including .22, .25, and .32 rimfire, and .25-20 and .32-20 centerfire. The Stevens Ideal 44, a stronger action designed for smokeless powders, was introduced around 1903-04, eventually leading to the discontinuation of the old 44 action except for .22, .25, and .32 rimfire. The 44 ceased production in 1916. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEFORE PARTICIPATING: There is no live crowd, no phone bidding, no left bids and we do not accept payment through the mail.
