Pair of documents from Captain John Sacry’s 51st Regiment, Enrolled Missouri Militia. Many of the men in Sacry’s unit were from Richmond, and Ray County. The 51st Regiment, Enrolled Missouri Militia was enrolled between 25 September 1862 and 1 December 1862. They were ordered into service between 25 September 1862 and 1 December 1862. They were discharged 13 January 1863. They were re-ordered into service between 7 June 1864 and 8 December 1864 and discharged again between 4 October 1864 and 18 March 1865. The Colonel in charge was Andrew Jackson Barr. 1) Document No. 52: Civil War regimental clothing issue with 62 signatures, Company C, 51st Regiment of Enrolled Militia of Missouri. Undated document. This large printed Civil War order form for soldiers uniforms with manuscript signatures of 56 members of the Company, and titled: "No. 52. WE the undersigned Non-commissioned Officers, Artificers, Musicians, and Privates, of Co. C, 51st Regt. Of M.M. do hereby acknowledge to have received of Capt. John Sacry the several articles of Clothing set opposite our respective names". There are 17 individual records [out of the 62] that have remarks noted Framed: 30"x20". Document: 22"x16". 2) Muster Roll dated April 30, 1864. Of Captain John Sacry’s Company C, 51st Enrolled Missouri Militia. 106 names written. Several have interesting remarks, including: William J. Goode-Deserted and Probably gone to Idaho”. “John H. Hill…Deserted to parts unknown” Christian Hamie “paid commutation tax and got pass to go to New Mexico.” 21-1/2" x21". Please see pictures.
