Disneyland Herbert Ryman Original "Frontierland" Design Concept Illustration From the Estate of Stan Jolley - This piece is an original ink and colored pencil concept illustration of the "Frontierland" attraction at Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California. The drawing depicts South Western Street, and was drawn by Disney imagineer Herbert Ryman. Ryman began his career at MGM before he began working for Walt Disney after being personally sought out by Disney, who was impressed by his works. Ryman went on to serve as an art director for beloved animated films such as Fantasia and Dumbo. Even after leaving Disney, Ryman stayed friends with Walt Disney and eventually helped Disney to turn his envisioned Disneyland into reality. This is an iconic, museum quality piece of Disney history, as Ryman drew the first illustrations of Walt Disney's vision of a theme park that eventually became Disneyland. Ryman contributed to Main Street U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, New Orleans Square, Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World, and many other beloved attractions that are still enjoyed by millions to this day. This piece should be framed, and put in Disney's museum, or admired in a very sophisticated collection. This is an original sketch by Herbert Ryman, and was acquired from the estate of Stan Jolley. Stan Jolley was friends with Herbert Ryman, and another instrumental figure in bringing Disney's ideas to life. This lot will come with an auction lot card from a previous auction. The sketch is mounted on illustration board. Measurements: 10 x 28 inches, framed-11.25 x 29.75 inches. Shipping Note: This item is located in Florida. Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer.
