Item Details

One of the most widely used handguns of the civil war, the remington new model army was the primary revolver issued by union cavalry after the fire at the colt's factory in 1863. The new model army was manufactured from 1863 to 1875 with a total production of approximately 132,000 and represented the last of remington's 44 caliber percussion revolvers. Ÿthe revolver has an 8" barrel and blued finish (that was professionally re-blued), casehardened hammer, fire blued trigger and brass trigger guard. The top barrel flat is marked: "patented sept. 14. 1858/ e. Remington & sons. Ilion new york.U.S.A. / new-model". All original and you will have a hard time finding one of these in this great condition... Unless you rob a museum. Completely functional and has been shot several times recently. Est value: 1200 -2500 dollars.
