A rare Imperial German artillery hanger machete, featuring the maker's mark "P.D.L." (Paul Dinger of Luneburg) along with an imperial crown stamp and regimental unit designation etched into the hilt.

The gold hilt and accents make this machete more than a weapon but a beautifully accented and marked piece of military history. This heavy-duty weapon functioned both as a sidearm and utility blade for artillery troops.

Likely issued during the late 19th to early 20th century, it has a broad blade typical of the machete-hanger hybrid favored by German field units. A fine collector's item representing the transitional period of edged weapons in German military history.
