Marlin Model 1897 Lever Action Takedown Rifle in .22 S,L & LR. 24" Full Octagon Barrel with German Silver Blade Front Sight, Flip up rear sight, and a period correct tang peep sight. Full Length Magazine tube, Deluxe Checkered Pistol Grip Stock with Crescent Butt Plate. Case colored receiver, hammer and lever, with earlier round top receiver cover. The gun grades as Fine+ with better than 70 Percent Blue on the barrel, and traces of the original Case Coloring present on the receiver, with one side having Black Patina, and one side with grey-freckled patina. The lever has a glossy black patina. Wood appears to have original finish with field and use marks, but a nice deep old shine. Clean bore with a light grain, and decent rifling. *ANTIQUE
