Item Details
Sponsored by Auburn Birthing Center. About the artist ~ Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mark holds a B.A. and an M.A. degree in art from Ball State University. He has taught high school art since 1976 and is currently serving as the Fine Arts Chair. Art is his passion. Sharing this passion with students is his commitment. He enjoys working in all art media and has had several one-man shows in the area and has won numerous awards in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. He started an adult continuing education class working with ceramics in the mid 80s. It is still offered at the high school twice a year and is more popular today than ever. His philosophy of art is perhaps best summed up by the word “passion”. To look at his work is to understand this passion for life, art, and his view of the world. He recently opened The Garrett Museum of Art (GMOA) in the center of Garrett, Indiana to further bring awareness and appreciation of the arts to our community.
