Valencia County Welcomes You!>>
Valencia County is situated in the central part of New Mexico, just south of Albuquerque, the state's largest city. It is bordered by Bernalillo County to the north, Socorro County to the south, Cibola County to the west, and Torrance County to the east. Valencia County is traversed by Interstate 25, which connects it to Albuquerque to the north and Las Cruces to the south. Other major highways, such as U.S. Route 60 and U.S. Route 85, also pass through the county, providing important transportation routes.
This property is located in Rio Grande Estates, a sprawling subdivision consisting of thousands of half and one acre parcels which stretches from the I-25 corridor in the west to the Manzano Mountains in the east, and extending southward to the Socorro County line. It encompasses not only the county's largest subdivision, but also the most extensive expanse of undeveloped land in this rapidly expanding region.
This picturesque area in northern New Mexico offers a rural lifestyle, however, still within a reasonable distance to urban amenities. Residents can access shopping, dining, and services in nearby towns like Belen and Los Lunas. Attractions nearby include the Tierra Grande North Navajo Loop, The Teresa R. Sheehan Wildlife Refuge and the Rio Grande River.
You can also enjoy numerous hiking and exploring opportunities nearby including the Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area, Cibola National Forest, and the Manzano Mountains State Park.
The area is characterized by rugged terrain, with views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It has historical significance as part of the original Route 66, which was a major highway in the early-to-mid 20th century connecting the Midwest to the West Coast.
July 2024 Update: Approval was recently granted to rezone 268 acres of vacant land, primarily located between NM47 and 304, for manufacturing operations. This bodes well for the continued growth of Valencia County. Development usually breeds development, development brings jobs, and jobs bring people, usually families, who need housing!
Valencia County is home to several notable landmarks and attractions, including the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, which is popular for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. The county also boasts scenic landscapes, including parts of the Rio Grande Valley and views of the Manzano Mountains to the east.
