WWII - Vietnam War USAAF / USAF Bombardier Medal Grouping. Named to Lt. Colonel Edward Christopher Quigley, serial numbers O-733355 (USAAF) and FR12491 (USAF). Grouping includes (1) Named WWII Distinguished Flying Cross. Stamped 2nd Lt. Edward C. Quigley A.C. on the reverse. (1) Numbered Purple Heart. Stamped 97748 on the rim. (1) Named Silver Star. Split wrap brooch. Private engraving. (1) Numbered Air Medal. Full wrap brooch. Serial number 7551 stamped on the brooch. (1) 3" Balfour Sterling Bombardier Wings. Pinback. (1) Named USAF Commendation. Stamped Edward C. Quigley on the reverse. (1) Unnamed & Unnumbered Bronze Star. (1) WWII Victory medal. (1) American Campaign. (1) ETO. (1) National Defense. (1) Vietnam Service with two stars. (1) Vietnam Campaign. (1) Ribbon bar. Also included are original and photocopies of discharge papers, award citations, crew photo, statement of service, military record and more. Edward C. Quigley served in the 338th Bombardment Squadron, 96th Bomb Squadron, 8th Air Force aboard the B-17 "Little Caesar" Bomber #42-30370. On July 29, 1943, the Little Caesar was shot down after returning from a bombing mission on Warnemunde. Edward Quigley was not on board at the time.
