1954 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE TRANSITIONS

This ?54 Corvette known as Transitions built by Larry Griffeys Hot Rods & Restorations was created as a tribute to the GM Concept Corvette displayed as one of the Dream Cars in the 1954 GM Motorama. The vision was to combine the stylish looks of the ?54 Motorama Prototype with modern-day technology handling and performance. This car was a six-year build leading to its debut at the 2017 Detroit Autorama where it took home a Ridler Great 8. The car has won many major awards since its debut including numerous Goodguys Pros Picks Goodguys Custom Rod of the Year Finalist in 2017 NSRAs first-ever Pro Pick of the Year 2017 Shades of the Past Magnificent 7 2017 2017 SEMA Battle of the Builders Top 12 ISCAs Bill Croft Memorial Award 2018 and Goodguys LIA Magazine Award 2018. It was the cover car for Vette Magazine and Vette Vues as well as several full articles in numerous U.S. and international magazines. This Corvette is powered by a custom Edelbrock supercharged 5.7-liter LS1 engine mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission. Modifications include Jamison tubular chassis C4 suspension front and rear custom anti-sway bars high-performance Baer 14 6-piston disc brakes Billet Specialties wheels custom Classic Instruments gauges chrome by advanced plating Vintage Air NuRelics power windows polished aluminum and stainless custom CNC machine work at Lokar custom emblems and a custom LS engine cover. Body modifications are extensive as every inch of this car has been reworked from top to bottom. It has a tapered body drop body-widening rear wheel wells removed and extended cowl modified to accept a ?56 windshield cowl vent removed gas lid removed rear hatch modified to accept a ?56 removable top hidden steel structures fabricated to surround the passenger compartment for safety all fuel and brake lines hidden custom CNC machined fender trim modeled after the original ?53 Corvette prototype custom hood scoop doors split and widened to accommodate power roll-up windows lift-off hardtop and remote control door latches. This award-winning ?Vette is finished in Soul Red by Griffeys over a custom interior in Deep Earth leather.
