This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fastback is one of 857 cars built. It was created as a homologation special to qualify the new 429ci semi-HEMI engine for NASCAR competition. The Boss 429 was specially modified and hand-built on May 8 1969 by Fords outside racing and special projects contractor Kar Kraft of Brighton MI and delivered to Don Shirk Ford upon completion. This 429 Boss powered by a matching-numbers 820-T 429ci engine incorporates a remote engine-oil cooler heavy-duty Toploader close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission 3.91 Traction-Lok differential power front disc brakes competition suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars and staggered rear shocks a trunk-mounted battery chromed 15? Magnum 500 wheels and Goodyear Polyglas F60-15 tires. The Deluxe D...cor interior further boasts the original black seats console an 8000-rpm tachometer front spoiler and color-keyed racing mirrors. Its a highly original car with a single professional repaint in the original Wimbledon White and KK No. 1785. This car maintains its original matching-numbers drivetrain and many original parts and components. This 429 Boss has been a consistent leading scorer in concours events including three SAAC awards and is documented with a Deluxe Marti Report. It was subject to a concours detailing with assistance from expert concours judge Ed Meyer and has been inspected and verified by well-known performance Ford and Mustang specialist Jim Wicks. Formerly part of the Robert Watson collection this Boss 429 has been kept in a museum-like setting by the current owner and is roadworthy.
