This 1962 Custom Corvette convertible is powered by a new 6.2-liter LT1 direct-injected Corvette engine producing 535hp and 470 ft/lbs of torque connected to a 4L75E automatic transmission. The Art Morrison C7 chassis includes power rack & pinion steering fully adjustable ride height and JRI coilovers. The braking power is provided by Wilwood with C7 6-piston calipers 14 rotors and stainless-steel brake lines. The engine is cooled by a custom-built aluminum DeWitt radiator finished in satin black. The stainless-steel fuel tank is built by Ricks Tanks. The project started as a no-hit Arizona body. The paint was stripped off the body with the plastic media blasting method. The body is finished with Evercoat polyester primer topped off with Axalta Jet Black base coat/clear coat paint. This Resto-Mod includes a matching black Stayfast convertible top by Al Knoch and a Torch Red leather interior featuring reclining custom seats for added head and legroom. The steering column is elevated 3.5 from the original location to provide plenty of room for comfort. Vintage Air handles interior heating and cooling. The car was upgraded to Dakota VHX analog instruments which include an electric actuated hood opener and a Bluetooth AM/FM Wonder Bar radio. The frame is powder-coated. The interior floor firewall and underside are finished with Lizard Skin ceramic coating for sound and heat control. The trunk is completed with Torch Red leather and carpet. The ride is finished off with custom Schott wheels and Pirellis P Zero tires. The project was completed in December 2018 with over 1500 hours invested in the build and driven approximately 200 test miles since completion.
