Overview of Winkler Knives SEAL/Sayoc RnD Hawk Boarding Axe

Item Details

A collaboration between edged weapons expert Rafael Kayanan and Daniel Winkler (who made all the edged weapons for the movie "Last of the Mohicans"). The goal was to exceed the standards of what a tomahawk could be- a practical application tool of exceptional craftsmanship. Despite its sleek appearance, the Sayoc-Winkler R&D Hawk is made with edge awareness, economy of motion and mobility in mind. Designed so that the heaviest area rests at the head, the hawk's full tang is milled to a taper reducing overall weight to an approximate 1 1/2 lbs. Featuring an upward curved end to reinforce grip, the handle is 13 inches long. These are favorites of the US Navy SEALS, who use them as Boarding Axes. Thomas Ratzlaff, one of the SEALS on "Extortion 17" also was in on the development of this tomahawk axe. I'm informed by our Naval Warfare guys this is a must have! Donated by Daniel Winkler of Winkler Knives, it is a $875 value. This axe was specially laser-engraved with the "Extortion 17" making it a one of a kind piece.
