Item Details
Oley Valley Pennsylvania Gunsmith. This Black Poweder Rifle is in Excellent condition, it's a 36 in., 38 caliber Rifled Barrel and lock are stamped "John Derr Warranted", Ornate Brass & German Silver Fittings Throughout, Curly Maple Stock Amazing condition for it's age with only a cmall crack in the forend at the stock cap and the patchbox release button is missing. Barrel swivels smoothly and locks in place. Rigle is originally Percussion, not a converted flintlock. John (Johannes) Derr is one of Berks County’s most prolific gun makers. He manufactured rifles, smooth bore guns, pistols and swivel rifles. He was also a blacksmith and pewtersmith, his life and career are documented in the book "House of Derr".
