In the interest of public health & safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, this August 14, 2021 auction is being held online only via Proxibid.com; there will be no in-person, in-house bidding. The University is requiring everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask or other face covering indoors. This requirement is applicable indoors when other people are present and in all public and common areas, including, but not limited to lobbies, hallways, stairways, restrooms, elevators, and in shared vehicles. 1. All items are sold "AS-IS, WHERE-IS." The University of Washington makes no guaranty, warranty or representation expressed or implied as to the quantity, kind, size, quality, weight, or description of any of the property or its fitness for any use or purpose whatsoever. 2. Buyers are responsible for their purchases when the auctioneer says "sold." The accepted bid at an auction is an oral contract and is legally binding. The auctioneer reserves the right to reopen the bid in the best interest of the University of Washington. All sales are final. The university is not responsible for any damage or loss of items after the bid is awarded. 3. At this time, we are not accepting cash payments or any in-person payments. Payment may be made online at payuwsurplus.com upon receipt of invoice. Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover will be accepted after the sale. No personal or business checks will be accepted. Payments must be completed by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday August 19th, 2021. The cashier will not be open August 14th. There is a 10% buyer's premium added to all auction purchases. Washington State sales tax will be applied to all auction invoices. A Reseller Permit, Buyers Retail Sales Tax Exemption Certificate, Streamlined Sales Tax exemption certificate, or Multi-State Tax exemption certificate is required at time of registration for all buyers who wish to qualify for tax exemption. Buyer is responsible for payment for all successful bids. Any item not paid for by the deadline may be returned to the sales floor and will be eligible for resale. 4. Items may be removed by appointment only. Buyers will receive instructions on scheduling an appointment once payment is received. Buyers or their agents are required to stay in their vehicle and show their invoice to the warehouse staff who will bring the merchandise to the loading area. Buyers are responsible for the removal of all their purchases from the loading area. Buyers will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No assistance will be provided. Exceptions will be made for large items requiring forklift assistance, unless stated otherwise in the auction listing. You are not allowed to dump any item into the dumpsters located in and around the loading area. All items must be removed by 3:30pm on Friday August 20th, 2021. Removal hours for Monday August 16th through Friday August 20th, 2021 are 8:30am to 3:30pm. Any item not removed by the deadline may be returned to the sales floor and will be eligible for resale. Dollies, carts, etc. are not included in the sale of items unless specified in the catalog and must be returned to the warehouse after items have been loaded. 5. Failure to pay for your purchases or failure to remove your merchandise by the given deadline may result in forfeiture. In either case, your name may be removed from the mailing list. In addition, future bids from those bidders not in compliance with the Terms and Conditions of sale may not be accepted by this office. (RCW 43.19.1911 & RCW 43.19.1913) 6. Purchaser is solely responsible for the removal of all items in the lots purchased. No private sales or trades will be allowed on University of Washington property. Individuals observed engaging in such activity may not be allowed to participate in future auctions. 7. Pre-bids will be accepted via Proxibid only. Buyers must register online and submit pre-bids using the Proxibid option. 8. The University of Washington reserves the right to refuse any bid in the best interest of the university. Buyers are recommended to remove any University of Washington and/or State of Washington property tags from items purchased. All property is sold “AS IS”, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Property is available for public inspection. It is the Bidder’s responsibility to determine condition, age, genuineness, value or any other determinate factor. University of Washington Surplus may attempt to describe the merchandise in advertising, on the Internet and at the auction but makes no representations. In no event shall University of Washington Surplus be held responsible for having made or implied any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Bidder shall be the sole judge of value. Bidders who bid from off site and are not present at the live auction or preview understand and acknowledge that they may not be able to inspect an item as well as if they examined it in person. It is the Bidder’s responsibility to determine condition, age, genuineness, value or any other determinate factor. University of Washington Surplus shall endeavor to describe in detail each item and any pertinent information about it. University of Washington Surplus will not be responsible for any errors or omissions in the description of the merchandise unless it is a material and intentional misrepresentation of the item itself. Bidder agrees that everything is sold as is and that they may not return any item they purchase. University of Washington Surplus is providing Internet pre-auction and live bidding as a service to Bidder. Bidder acknowledges and understands that this service may or may not function correctly the day of the auction. Under no circumstances shall Bidder have any kind of claim against University of Washington Surplus or anyone else if the Internet service fails to work correctly before or during the live auction. University of Washington Surplus will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. University of Washington Surplus reserves the right to withdraw or re-catalog items in this auction.
