Item Details
Sharps rifles are a series of large-bore, single-shot, falling-block, breech-loading rifles, beginning with a design by Christian Sharps in 1848, and have become icons of the American Old West with their appearances in many western-genre films and books. Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing is a family owned business that has been established since 1976, and is the recognized leader in the quality production and craftsmanship of the incomparable Sharps Rifle. Each Shiloh-Sharps Rifle is custom built for superb accuracy & authenticity. The company produced the legendary 1874 Sharps Rifle featured in the 1990 Western film Quigley Down Under, starring Tom Selleck. Shiloh Sharps Rifle began production in 1983. Previously, the Sharps rifle reproductions were manufactured by Shiloh Products Inc. founded by Len Mule (pronounce Mull-A) of Garfield, New Jersey, in partnership with Wolfgang Droge who owned Drovel Tool Company of Farmingdale, New York, from 1976 to 1983. This Shiloh Rifle was made at the original Farmingdale, New York, factory in the late 1970s (low 4-digit serial number). It is chambered for .45 Sharps straight cartridge "2 1/10" (45-70 Govt.). Features include a smooth walnut stock with dark grain swirl/ gloss finish & Schnabel forearm tip, casehardened receiver, double set-triggers, curved casehardened buttplate, 28"" heavy round barrel, Marble's folding adjustable rear tang peep sight, folding aperture rear sight, dovetailed front globe sight and side hammer ignition. This gun is in nice condition with no wear to speak of, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

- In order for an auctioneer to utilize ProxiBid's new ATG Payment System, the buyer’s sales tax (for the state in which they live) is automatically deducted. There is no way to bypass this feature for an auctioneer. Many states now require sales tax for auction items, but not all. If you live in a state that has passed an Auction Sales Tax Law (which most have in the past few years), the system automatically deducts your states percentage. If you live in a state that does not require sales tax on auction items, no tax will be added. Also, if you have a State Tax Number, you can register it with ProxiBid and no sales tax will be deducted. This new software is designed to make payments easier for the buyer and take the burden of the required sale tax off the auctioneer.
